HR Business Partner, Manufacturing & Supply Chain - Spain
The HR Business Partner will work closely with senior management, partnering on a mix of strategic priorities such as strategic partnering on transformational activities including organizational design & effectiveness and change management. Additionally, they will advise and support in a hands-on manner on issues related to : employee relations, recruitment, selection, performance management, engagement, succession and talent development.
This position is a matrixed role. The customers for this role are factory leadership, as well as functional managers and colleagues in Supply Chain and Engineering. It is part of the Global HR Team that supports Operations (Manufacturing, Supply Chain and Engineering), but is expected to collaborate closely with the HR Team that supports business leadership in Spain, and the broader EMEA HR Team.
This position will be based out of the Otis factory in Leganés (Madrid).
Goals and Objectives :
* Partner with Leadership as they develop the organizational design to meet current and future business needs. Ensure any such changes build functional capability and capacity with the line managers.
* Take accountability for ensuring the effective management of resources : Drive productivity improvements through the monthly monitoring, analyzing, and forecasting of employment data (costs, headcount) & trends.
* Develop succession plans and work proactively to ensure that a talent pool is available and being actively developed within the business, ensuring a diverse mix of talent and development activities across all groups from early career to highly valued professionals.
* Actively coach and participate in all employee relations issues, including investigations, disciplinary issues, grievances and appeals, providing clear operational HR advice and guidance and active involvement as required. Engage the Labour Relations Team for support, as necessary.
* For use in one-to-one or group interventions, ensure that all tools and COE resources available are being fully utilized to lead a motivated and engaged team that delivers results.
* Actively participate as a member of the Spanish HR team to ensure alignment within country and region HR and business priorities, and as part of the client group’s leadership team. Direct reporting line will be to EMEA Operations HR.
* Partner with client groups to support on-boarding plans for all new starters and ensure that all new starters have a mid and end of probation review.
* Support the salary review process ensuring that recommendations are linked to performance and recent appraisals and within budget.
* Maintain up to date knowledge of relevant legislation, implementing new or changed policies and procedures, in partnership with relevant COE’s, to ensure that the company meets its employment law requirements.
* Ensure adherence to all Otis Policies and Procedures.
* Be a champion for the Otis Absolutes : Be fully conversant and compliant with all Environmental Health and Safety procedures; Complete quarterly ethics module as advised by Ethics & Compliance Officer (ECO); ensure appropriate focus is placed on Quality / Continuous Improvement on behalf of the Customer.
* Turn the culture of Spain Factories, and local Supply Chain and Engineering into a competitive advantage by aligning engagement strategy to business strategy.
* Deploy the People strategy across Spain, including Madrid & San Sebastien, in an aligned fashion with business goals and global & regional strategies. For example, technical career ladder for Engineering and front-line supervisor training in Factory.
* Demonstrate enthusiasm to meet the challenges of a fast-moving environment, adopt a lateral approach to problem solving, combined with energy and drive. Support line managers in implementation of progressive HR initiatives and develop their business.
Qualifications / Experience / Knowledge :
* Degree qualified – preferably Master in Business Administration or Legal.
* Minimum of 10 years operational HR experience at either HR Manager or HR Business Partner level, preferable in a Manufacturing environment.
* Excellent labor law skills – preferably with operational experience in a Manufacturing environment.
* Fluent in Spanish and English.
* Strong Organizational Design and Change Management expertise.
* Strong business and financial understanding.
* Experience in a matrix organization.
* Technology expertise including PowerPoint, Excel, etc. as well as experiences with HR Systems like Workday.
