Key responsabilities
As Senior Scientist – Assay Development & Team Lead, you will oversee biosensor immunoassay development and manage a team of four scientists to ensure high-performance assay optimization, regulatory alignment, and seamless integration into Bioherent’s diagnostic platform. You will play a crucial role in driving research objectives, meeting product development milestones, and ensuring laboratory efficiency. Your responsibilities include:
🧪 Assay development & optimization:
· Lead the development, optimization, and validation of biosensor-based immunoassays for biomarker detection.
· Ensure accuracy, sensitivity, reproducibility, and scalability of immunoassays.
· Implement Design of Experiments (DOE) and statistical methods to optimize assay performance.
🔬 Scientific leadership & team management:
· Manage and mentor a team of four scientists, setting clear objectives and tracking progress.
· Foster a goal-oriented, data-driven lab culture that prioritizes efficiency and scientific rigor.
· Oversee daily lab operations, including resource management, task delegation, and troubleshooting experiments.
📈 Data analysis & experimental execution:
· Design, execute, and troubleshoot experiments, ensuring high-quality data generation.
· Perform statistical analysis, including LOD, specificity, etc. (Python, Origin, or statistical tools).
🔗 Cross-functional collaboration & productization:
· Work closely with engineers, regulatory teams, and managers.
· Align assay development with commercialization goals, scaling, and regulatory requirements.
· Define assay validation protocols and support regulatory documentation (ISO 13485, IVDR/FDA submissions).
💡 Research, funding & intellectual property:
· Contribute to grant applications and scientific publications to enhance Bioherent’s visibility.
· Support patent development related to new biosensor assays.
· Present findings at scientific conferences and industry events.
Who you are
· You have developed and validated immunoassays, preferably for biosensors, IVD, or molecular diagnostics.
· You are goal-oriented and experienced in managing research projects with clear commercialization objectives.
· You have experience leading a small team, mentoring scientists, and coordinating lab operations.
· You are skilled in data-driven decision-making, including statistical analysis and assay performance optimization.
· You work well in fast-paced, multidisciplinary environments, where your contributions directly impact healthcare.
Required skills
· PhD in Immunology, Biochemistry, or Molecular Biology.
· 4+ years experience in IVD, immunoassay development, biosensors, or molecular diagnostics.
· Proven expertise in immunoassay optimization (sensitivity, specificity, reproducibility, LOD calculations).
· Strong understanding of Design of Experiments (DOE), statistical methods, and assay troubleshooting.
· Experience managing research teams, laboratory operations, and project milestones.
· Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex scientific data into actionable insights.
· Fluent in English (spoken and written) for scientific documentation and cross-functional collaboration.
Preferred skills
· Experience in drug allergy diagnostics or immunological biomarkers.
· Background in biosensor performance optimization and integration into POC platforms.
· Proficiency in Python, R, Origin, or statistical analysis software.
· Familiarity with IVD regulatory pathways (FDA, IVDR, assay validation requirements).
