More About the Role:
The Digital Modernization Sector of Leidos has an exciting opportunity for a Systems Engineer to support efforts for the OCONUS Enterprise Network (ONE-Net) portion of the NGEN-R Service Management, Integration, and Transport (SMIT) contract located in Rota, Spain.
NGEN-R SMIT is the largest IT services program for the Navy; inclusive of cybersecurity services, network operations, service desk, and data transport. Ultimately, Leidos will support the Navy in unifying its shore-based networks and data management to improve capability and service while also saving significant dollars by focusing efforts under one enterprise network.
Responsible for Tier II/III support, on site SME support, and engineering efforts on the ONE-Net server and network infrastructure in Rota, Spain. This includes the responsibility for integrating ONE-Net enterprise engineering efforts involving Naval Computer and Telecommunications Station (NCTS) Europe. This position involves responding appropriately to alerts and events and responding to incidents from triage through resolution, including escalations, where appropriate. Conduct infrastructure repairs, including directing remote activities to maintain operational effectiveness for services. Provide root cause analysis documentation in accordance with Government procedures. Document daily shift activities in appropriate reporting and ticketing tools and ensure proper pass down of any outstanding issues.
What You'll Get to Do:
• Tier Level II/III support for the LNSC (Local Network Service Center) for ONE-Net.
• Coordinate all maintenance and restoration activities with the TNOSC and LNSC engineers and leadership on a daily basis.
• Provide technical support for NIPR/SIPR services to all customers located on the naval base and remote sites in Lisbon, Valencia, and Madrid.
• Responsible for IOS upgrades on all ONE-Net related network devices on the base.
• Work closely with NIWC on all new additions to the network.
• Responsible for the configuration and testing of all new additions.
• Work closely with all visiting teams performing work related to the expansion and upgrades to ONE-Net related systems and infrastructure.
• Responsible for upkeep of the base infrastructure (routers, switches, UPS, crypto devices, etc).
• Perform maintenance tasks on the ONE-Net servers (replace power supplies, hard disks, fans, tape drives, etc).
• Assist with One-Net system refresh, and deployments.
You'll Bring These Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree in related field and minimum 4 years previous relevant experience; or Master’s Degree in related field and minimum 2 years previous relevant experience. An additional 4 years of experience may be substituted for a degree.
• US Citizen with an active DoD Secret Clearance.
• Compliant with DoD 8570 IAT Level II (Security+, CCNA Security, etc.).
• Possess a Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification.
These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
• Top Secret Clearance.
• ITIL Foundation v3 or v4.
• Possess a Microsoft Desktop Administrator Associate, Microsoft Endpoint Administrator Associate, or Microsoft Azure Administrator Associate.
