IT Transaction Lawyer - Airline IT Europe
Summary
The legal department is looking to recruit an experienced technology lawyer to join the team supporting the Airline IT business of Amadeus in Europe. Reporting to the Head of Airline IT for Europe in Legal, you will provide legal and contractual support to the Airline IT business on complex and large outsourcing agreements. You'll have daily exposure to our customers and Amadeus senior management.

Key Responsibilities:
* Provide Transactional Support
Provide legal support for Europe to enable sales teams to achieve their financial, strategic and operational objectives by providing solution-oriented, responsive and commercially-practical legal advice, while containing legal risks and exposure to the maximum extent possible;
* Identify the risks involved during contract negotiation, escalate to the relevant stakeholders and obtain internal approvals;
* Draft, negotiate and interpret a wide variety of commercial issues and technology contracts agreements with airline customers, varying in nature, complexity and value, and work on all phases of deals, ranging from the proposal / bid review stages, right through to final negotiation, escalation to senior leadership and dealing with any post signature issues, claims and litigation;
* Assist in advising management on legal risks, such as preparation and reporting on high level risks of large deals;
* Adopt an energetic, pro-active and practical approach to your work, adding value by creating strategic solutions to key legal issues.
* Provide Post-Contract Support
Analyze and advise on interpretation of signed customer contracts;
* Claims handling: investigating claim merits and managing settlement of claims received from customers post-contract signature;
* Legal Support for any post-Cutover upsell (prepare contractual documentation required for post-signature – for example, contract amendments, supplements and Change Orders).
* Enhance focus and advise commercial teams
Support knowledge sharing and training of sales and commercial teams.
* Provide support to other areas in the preparation of contract templates and internal procedures;
Preparing template documentation and negotiation guidelines, including IT services and license agreements, commercial proposals, letters of intent, confidentiality obligations and template change control documentation;
* Maintaining contract documentation and guidelines to ensure they are up-to-date with legal developments, industry best practices, and Amadeus policies (coordinating as necessary with internal stakeholders as appropriate).
About the ideal candidate:
* Holds a university degree in Law, legal qualification to practice as a UK-qualified lawyer (e.g. JD), and/or a master's degree in Law;
* As a senior professional with at least 6 years of PQE, with private practice training/experience and ideally in-house experience in a multinational corporation;
* Has solid experience in IT/outsourcing agreements (in particular SaaS agreements);
* Is a seasoned and mature lead negotiator (preferably on the IT vendor side) who knows how to balance commercial and legal considerations;
* Is self-motivated, energetic and highly responsive with an ability to manage competing priorities and keep a clear head under pressure;
* Possesses a strong commercial outlook and highly developed stakeholder management skills;
* Has a strategic as well as legal approach to the law and likes working in a fast-paced, challenging and competitive environment;
* Is proficient in English. Additional language skills, ideally French or Spanish, are an advantage, but not a must.
