Main duties:
As an experienced Life Cycle Assessment professional/ researcher, your main day-to-day functions will be:
Lead and execute complex Life Cycle Assessments across various industries and sectors.
Explore and maximize the functionalities of LCA software tools (e.g., SimaPro, GaBi, OpenLCA, etc.); knowledge of Brightway is an advantage.
Conduct Life Cycle Costing (LCC) and Techno-Economic Assessment (TEA) to support business decision-making.
Develop and evaluate sustainable business models.
Critically analyse, identify and implement emerging trends and innovative approaches in sustainability assessments.
Foster the use of programming and modelling resources (e.g., Python, MATLAB) for LCA applications.
Provide expert guidance to cross-functional teams, ensuring sustainability considerations are integrated into all stages of project development.
Preparation of technical reports, presentations, scientific articles and other documents related with research outcomes.
Education:
1. Master's degree in chemical engineering, environmental engineering science, industrial engineering, mechanical engineering or related job experience.
2. A PhD or equivalent experience in areas related to life cycle assessment is mandatory.
Desirable skills:
1. Previous experience in European projects and/or collaborative research with industry.
2. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
3. Team-working abilities in dynamic and multidisciplinary working environments.
Job specific skills:
1. 5+ years of professional experience (academic and/or industrial context).
2. Experience with at least one LCA software platform (e.g. SimaPro, GaBi, Open LCA).
3. Programming skills (e.g. MATLAB, python). Experience with programming and modelling for LCA applications is an advantage.
4. High-level proficiency in English.
5. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret experimental and industrial results, extracting meaningful insights to drive informed decision-making.
6. Demonstrated ability to coordinate projects, support team development, and collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
7. High-level proficiency in English.
8. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
9. Available to travel, driving license and own car
