Job Purpose
Oversee and standardise the training, procedural management, and continuous improvement initiatives within the Maintenance Department, ensuring regulatory compliance with EASA standards, internal quality and safety requirements, and operational best practices, in order to enhance workforce competence, procedural consistency, and efficiency in maintenance operations while supporting the organisation’s digital transformation and Lean methodologies.
Main Accountabilities
* Ensure that all personnel receive the required training mandated by EASA and any additional company-defined technical training, thereby maintaining compliance and enhancing workforce competence.
* Guarantee continuous access to required training, ensure contractual agreements with providers are upheld, and facilitate audits by regulatory authorities regarding training compliance.
* Centralize all maintenance procedures in a digital system, ensuring they are properly formatted, classified, accessible to relevant personnel, and compliant with regulatory and internal requirements.
* Maintain consistency and traceability of all maintenance procedures, ensuring that only authorized personnel modify and approve them, and that all relevant stakeholders acknowledge and adhere to updates.
* Identify inefficiencies and drive process optimization by engaging with various stakeholders, implementing structured improvement initiatives, and ensuring measurable impact on maintenance operations.
* Ensure that proposed projects are aligned with the company’s strategic objectives, that decision-makers have the necessary information for prioritization, and that approved initiatives receive adequate resources for execution.
* Provide structured project oversight, align cross-functional teams, conduct progress reviews, and deliver clear reports and KPIs to senior management regarding the status and impact of improvement initiatives.
* Secure necessary approvals for investment in process improvements by demonstrating expected cost savings, operational benefits, and return on investment to senior leadership and financial decision-makers.
* Verify that maintenance staff confirm their understanding of new procedures, supporting audits and regulatory checks on procedural adherence.
* Create a consistent documentation framework that enhances clarity, usability, and regulatory compliance.
* Manage supplier relationships, negotiate contract renewals, and verify that all required training sessions remain accessible to maintenance personnel.
* Act as the key contact for regulatory audits and inquiries, ensuring timely submission of compliance-related documentation.
* Contribute to a well-trained, competent workforce by supporting the dissemination of best practices and new regulatory requirements.
* Fulfill the mission of the job if it is in the employee´s hand.
Main Responsibilities - Tasks
* Manage and oversee the regulatory and internally required training for all Boeing maintenance personnel, including directly employed staff and exclusive subcontractors within the Maintenance Department.
* Coordinate with internal maintenance subdepartments, quality assurance teams, and external training providers to secure timely and appropriate training delivery.
* Implement, manage, and ensure full operational use of a digital documentation platform for maintenance procedures, establishing a structured, standardized, and controlled repository.
* Define and enforce document control policies, including approval workflows, access management, and version control, ensuring procedural integrity and audit readiness.
* Act as the Maintenance Department’s focal point for continuous improvement projects, aligning with Lean, Kaizen, and 5S principles, and ensuring cross-functional collaboration.
* Facilitate the prioritization and approval of maintenance process improvement projects by coordinating with Maintenance Managers and other stakeholders.
* Lead and track progress on assigned maintenance-related process improvement projects, acting as a project coordinator while ensuring timely execution and reporting.
* Prepare, validate, and justify business cases for proposed maintenance improvement projects in collaboration with the commercial department and other stakeholders.
* Monitor and enforce compliance with newly published or updated maintenance procedures by ensuring affected personnel acknowledge and implement changes.
* Structure, format, and classify maintenance procedures in accordance with established company standards, ensuring uniformity and ease of use.
* Oversee and maintain active contracts with external training providers, ensuring the continuity and quality of training services.
* Engage with regulatory bodies, particularly EASA, ensuring that all maintenance training and procedural documentation align with current aviation safety standards.
* Facilitate knowledge transfer and training delivery across maintenance teams, supporting internal upskilling and development initiatives.
* Perform any other responsibility or function that is assigned inherent to the job.
Main Relationships
* Maintenance Sub-Departments : To coordinate training compliance, procedure standardisation, and process improvements across all teams within the Maintenance Department.
* Quality and Safety Department : To ensure that all maintenance procedures and training initiatives comply with EASA regulations and internal audit requirements.
* Commercial Department : To collaborate on business case development for improvement projects, securing financial approvals for process enhancements.
* Supplier Management and Procurement : To oversee contractual agreements with training providers and digital documentation system vendors.
* IT and Digital Transformation Teams : To coordinate the implementation, maintenance, and optimisation of the digital documentation platform.
* Project Sponsors (Maintenance Managers) : To facilitate project approval, execution, and monitoring, ensuring alignment with departmental goals.
* Travel Management Team : To coordinate logistics for training sessions that require physical attendance at external locations.
* EASA (European Union Aviation Safety Agency) : To align training and procedural documentation with regulatory standards and facilitate compliance audits.
* Training Providers : To manage external contracts and ensure continued availability of required technical training sessions.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
Experience
* Minimum of 2-3 years in roles related to process standardisation, project management, quality assurance, technical training coordination, or continuous improvement, preferably in an engineering or aviation environment.
* Experience in managing regulatory training compliance, ensuring adherence to legal (EASA) and internal training standards.
* Proven ability to manage and optimise procedural documentation across multiple departments.
* Successful execution of continuous improvement projects with measurable operational impact.
* Experience in stakeholder management at various levels, ensuring project buy-in and execution.
* Previous exposure to digital transformation projects, particularly in aviation maintenance.
Competencies
* Strong knowledge of EASA regulations regarding maintenance training, documentation, and compliance protocols.
* Solid understanding of aircraft maintenance operations, including training requirements for technical personnel and regulatory compliance.
* Proficiency in document control and procedural standardisation, particularly in digitalised environments.
* Experience with Lean, Kaizen, and 5S methodologies for continuous improvement in technical and operational processes.
