The Role
Working alongside Tradition’s global Trading Operations Market Data support teams based in New York, London, and Madrid, we are looking for a Junior Trading Platforms / Application Support engineer who can handle the challenges and the fast pace associated with global financial markets.
The ideal candidate will be an excellent, creative problem solver with strong troubleshooting skills. They will have basic experience in supporting Trading Platforms to ensure the integrity, provision, transformation, and distribution of financial market data. The ideal candidate must have the following skillsets:
1. Support, management, and administration of Trading platforms and reference data
2. Knowledge Base / Documentation creation
3. Strong Ticket Management via an ITSM toolset
4. Support of Client end of day trade / order files
5. System Audits
The ideal candidate must be willing to:
1. Support of all in-house electronic trading platforms (FX, IRS, Bonds, EQD, Money Markets, Commodities)
2. Support of Tradition’s in-house market data distribution platform
The candidate must have excellent organizational skills, be able to work autonomously as well as part of a team, and be an “out of the box” conceptual thinker/problem solver, demonstrating an ability to create and share complex solutions to technical and non-technical audiences to tight deadlines.
We also require the candidate to have strong Excel skills (including formulas and pivot tables). Other skills/experience considered an advantage:
1. Financial product knowledge
2. Linux command line experience
Key Duties
Normal duties will initially involve the operation and management of one/more of the essential areas, with on-the-job training to enable you to become involved in other areas of service:
1. Management of incidents/ requests from external customers, internal brokers, ecommerce teams
2. Instrument Management Desk / Market Configurations
3. Trader / Broker permission / access requests
4. Setup of new markets and configuration of trader / broker screens
5. Analysis of client fix logs when troubleshooting customer queries
6. Onboarding customers onto trading platforms and market data platforms
7. Managing project work and incident / service requests
8. Ensuring that information accurately captures the lifecycle of incidents/requests
9. Coordinating with teams within the IT division to ensure that service outages are correctly communicated to the business or affected users
10. Contributing to the overall success of the knowledge process via identification of opportunities for new knowledge, and proposal of improvements to existing knowledge
11. Testing new releases and contributing to virtual teams in project work as required
12. Planning and prioritization of project work to ensure that deadlines and targets are met
13. Developing and maintaining knowledge and skills and keep up-to-date with new processes, procedures and developments
14. Performing weekend release checkouts as and when required
Hours
9 hour shift pattern including – 1 hour lunch: Monday to Friday: Shift within 0630 – 1800 UTC Based out of our Madrid Office. Participation in change management and testing on weekends/evenings when required.
