Based in Alicante, Spain, Medalchemy is a manufacturing, extraction, and research site for Curaleaf International. With decades of experience in Research & Development and the manufacture of active pharmaceutical ingredients, this facility places innovation and quality assurance at the heart of every activity.
Position
As Head of Operations, you will ensure strategic alignment with group headquarters, maintaining open communication with Senior Leadership, including detailed updates and follow-up reports. You will play a pivotal role in driving operational excellence across production, warehouse management, and team performance, achieving high standards in efficiency, compliance, and productivity.
Duties will include, but not be limited to:
Strategic Operations Alignment
1. Aligning local operations and supply chain with group-level strategies to ensure seamless integration across the organization.
2. Defining and implementing operational KPIs.
3. Setting targets and monitoring performance to maintain optimal efficiency and productivity.
Resource Planning
1. Evaluating and adapting manufacturing assets and resources to meet current and future demand.
2. Managing new production initiatives and CAPEX projects.
3. Providing regular progress reports and updates to senior management.
4. Identifying and addressing quality issues using Root Cause Analysis, Lean methodologies, and CAPA planning.
5. Eliminating inefficiencies and ensuring process optimization.
Production Coordination
1. Working with Supply Chain teams to execute the Production Plan effectively.
2. Ensuring OTIF (On-Time, In-Full) delivery and service level adherence.
Warehouse Management
1. Overseeing inventory tracking and optimizing warehouse space to meet evolving demands.
2. Partnering with local finance teams to develop operational budgets and forecasts.
3. Ensuring alignment with central guidelines and senior management directives.
Team Leadership and Development
1. Inspiring and motivating the Operations team to achieve peak performance.
2. Providing coaching, addressing performance gaps, and fostering engagement.
Executive Reporting
1. Maintaining open communication with senior leadership.
2. Delivering detailed updates and follow-up reports.
Requirements
To be a successful Head of Operations with Curaleaf, you will have Operations Management experience with a proven track record of operational efficiency, team building, and driving outstanding results.
It is essential you have:
1. Experience with EU GMP standards in a pharmaceutical environment.
2. Proven track record of operational efficiency, team building, and driving results.
3. Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
4. Experience with Lean Six Sigma, supply chain management, and safety programs.
5. Proficiency in Microsoft Suite applications.
6. Business Level English.
Although not essential, experience in the cannabis industry would be a huge advantage.
