We are looking for a Head of Carrier Management.
The primary purpose of the role is to lead the Carrier/Logistics Service Providers (LSP) agenda for the LLP Business Unit. Working closely with the Heads of Account, Operations, and the functions, the role holder is responsible for building, leading, developing, and motivating the Carrier Management team to:
1. Build and maintain sustainable and effective partnerships with Carriers/LSP delivering 3PL services to Business Unit accounts, leveraging these relationships to drive service excellence and continuously improve value for the LLP, Customers, and Carriers/LSPs.
2. Work with Senior Carrier Management Business Unit leads to ensure a cohesive strategy for Carrier/LSP management across LLP Europe.
3. Develop and maintain a standardized Carrier/LSP performance monitoring, control, and management framework based on agreed Key Performance Indicators and state-of-the-art vendor management processes.
4. Closely align and feed the LLP Procurement Team in generating a sustainable and efficient freight procurement strategy, managing change within the Carrier/LSP network as required.
5. Develop the Carrier/LSP base on a strategic level to ensure high-quality service and to deliver LLP strategic objectives in the areas of digitalisation, value/competitiveness, service capability/enhancement, and sustainability.
Accountabilities:
1. Continuously develop new Carriers/LSPs to enrich LLPs carriers portfolio, providing the most cost-effective and best service to the customer. Work with existing providers to further develop the relationship and continuously grow their opportunities.
2. Ensure all customer operational needs are met through the Carriers/LSPs.
3. Develop and maintain effective Carrier/LSP relationships which maximize the opportunities for LLP Europe.
4. Ensure Carrier/LSP KPIs and regular partnership review processes are completed in line with LLP processes and best practices.
5. Maintain Carrier/LSP connectivity and interfaces consistently, and build, maintain, and develop KPI suites and scorecards as required.
6. Lead Carbon Reduction initiatives across the Carriers/LSPs, maximizing synergies across all different modes of transport and all incumbent LLP accounts, together with exploring market state-of-the-art green solutions.
7. Ensure robust cooperation with Value Creation Management to foster a sustainable continuous improvement cycle with the carrier base, promoting their active role, to increase value for the LLP, Customers, and the Carriers/LSPs.
8. Align with GBS and LLP Procurement teams to agree on the most effective freight procurement strategy, including achievement of cost down initiatives and operational complexity reduction.
Requirements for the job:
1. University Master degree or equivalent.
2. Logistics Professional Qualifications.
3. 5 Years management experience within operations in Supply Chain (warehouse and transport).
4. At least 5 years experience working with Carriers / Logistics Service Providers (cross dock, customs agents, warehouse).
5. Experience in managing and leveraging operational and business data to deliver supply chain change.
6. Experience in Carrier aggregator platforms implementation and integration.
7. Experience identifying and leading digitalization solutions (BI, TMS, WMS, IoT...).
8. A proven change leader with a highly self-motivated mind-set for excellence and innovation.
9. Responsibility for a team that will work across Europe.
10. Requires strong cultural awareness/interface skills.
11. Requires 25% National / International travel.
