Job Summary: Effectively assist the events sales team with corporate groups and social events taking place in Nobu Barcelona. He/She will meet and exceed sales targets set in the monthly and yearly forecasts and direct all efforts to maximizing the hotel’s revenues and profits across all revenue streams, specifically small meeting conference and food beverage operating departments. He/She manages the property’s social events and non-residential groups while managing expectations and ensuring production goals are met. This includes maintaining the entire corporate market, not only local but also international. The Sales Executive will also develop a network of contacts to encourage and secure hotel trial of key decision makers. Also, support the sales team’s overall objectives and contribute to the success of Nobu Hotel Barcelona’s positioning within the competitive set of Barcelona. Maintain and exceed Nobu Standards to maximize profits and ensure outstanding guest service.
Essential Functions:
1. Effectively, professionally, and positively respond to incoming RFPs in less than 24 hrs. (alternative email/call) to close all potential business while adhering to Nobu Hotel Barcelona sales standards prioritizing our partners or red flag periods.
2. Normally will send inquiries for groups + FB and board meetings, lunches, or dinners.
3. Take the lead on rate negotiations and ensure we maximize our market share in events supported by Revenue Director/ Commercial Director.
4. Sell the hotel events space to the local market.
5. Follow up on leads by qualifying the customer’s needs and dates for the event to determine if the business is a good fit for the property.
6. Verify all group room blocks and their event requirements in Delphi/Opera system assigned and manage the groups before going into TENT/DEF status, ensuring all details are correct (account, contact, market segment, source...) before giving to Events.
7. Ensure billing accuracy and conduct bill reviews with the clients prior to client arrival.
8. Ensure contract phase and first payment deposit is settled and make sure that the group is correctly transferred to the event team.
9. Work closely with other departments such as the reservations department on the rooming lists received prior to check-in.
10. Plan and conduct site inspections/FAM TRIPS with existing and prospective clients.
11. Effectively use Sales Force/Delphi while using existing sales standards to document all sales activities and grow Nobu Hotel Barcelona database, working closely with the marketing department.
12. Continuously add and update the database of local and international accounts and ensure implementation of an efficient and targeted acquisition program.
13. Maintain master reports such as OTBS, Detailed report FB Forecast daily updated.
14. Attend meetings as assigned – Groups meeting etc.
15. Consistently maintain Nobu Hotel Barcelona’s team informed on upcoming groups, events, or VIP clients in a professional and concise manner to anticipate guests' needs and create guest loyalty.
16. Cultural Ambassador for the Company and the Team always aiming for positive demeanor and wording when interacting with clients and pathfinders.
What are we looking for in you?
1. Bachelor’s degree in hospitality or business preferred.
2. Minimum of 1 year experience in events or hospitality.
3. Excellent spoken and written communication skills in Spanish and English; Catalan is a plus.
4. Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office; Opera and Delphi is a plus.
