Postdoctoral Researcher for Blood-Brain Barrier Project (Torres Quevedo Fellowship)
Gate2Brain is seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher to join our team under the framework of the Torres Quevedo Fellowship program. Gate2Brain will lead the application process for the fellowship funding, and if successful, the candidate's postdoctoral position will be funded through this program.
The project focuses on utilizing Gate2Brain's innovative platform, based on peptides capable of effectively crossing the blood-brain barrier (BBB), to enhance the delivery of therapeutic antibodies to the brain.
Please note that the candidate’s doctoral degree must be officially recognized or validated in Spain at the time of application.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Chemical modification of developed conjugates.
2. In vitro studies of blood-brain barrier penetration.
3. In vivo studies to analyze biodistribution in the central nervous system (CNS).
4. Experience with polymeric nanoparticles would be a valuable asset.
5. If possible, conducting in vivo efficacy and safety studies of the selected conjugate.
The primary focus will be on CNS diseases, such as brain tumors and brain metastases. However, the inclusion of antibodies targeting neurodegenerative diseases may also be considered.
Work Environment: The successful candidate will be part of the Gate2Brain team, working at IPBLN-CSIC in Granada, within the research group of Dr. Macarena Sánchez Navarro.
