About the team you are joining
Under the guidance of the Assistant Director, Airport Infrastructure, the intern will be part of the European Regional Operations, Safety and Security (OSS), Airports Infrastructure and Security team and will learn and understand about one of IATA's roles in the aviation industry. They will gain experience and knowledge whilst providing support on areas such as: airport capacity, passenger facilitation, and airport charges.
What your day would be like
1. Understand and support the team's efforts in infrastructure and customer experience/facilitation-related activities in the European Region, with a focus on airport capacity, passenger facilitation, and airport charges.
2. Help the team with daily communications to relevant industry stakeholders such as airline members, local associations, EUROCONTROL, and airports.
3. In close cooperation with the team, participate in developing IATA studies, cost models, planning, and documents related to airport and passenger facilitation issues.
4. Get to know and support the airport infrastructure and customer experience teams with different campaign activities, including follow-up with airports and states.
5. Help organize and prepare the Regional Airports Steering group and the European Facilitation focus group meetings in Madrid.
6. Provide assistance in various meetings.
7. Learn about and participate in the development of position papers.
8. Assist in other administrative duties, as requested.
We would love to hear from you if you have
1. Recently graduated or currently completing a University degree in Aviation Management, Business Administration, or any other relevant discipline.
2. Some knowledge of air navigation, air traffic management, safety operations, and financial analysis.
3. Outstanding research skills, report writing, and creating presentations.
4. Notable organizational abilities, expertise prioritizing tasks, and capability working in a team environment.
5. Interest in various subjects and are a highly motivated individual.
6. Excellent PC skills using Microsoft Office software, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
7. Fluency in written and spoken English; knowledge of other languages will be an asset.
