POSITION SUMMARY
The Marketing Director plans and executes marketing initiatives of the property's products and services.
The Marketing Director is responsible for conceiving, planning, directing, controlling, and implementing the activities that generate and maximize overall revenues, through marketing, promotion, advertising, and public relations.
The Marketing Director must harmonize the culture, mission, values, and quality standards to ensure maximum potential is achieved.
This person must create an exceptional climate of professional and personable service that ensures the long-term engagement of employees, guests, and owners.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Assist in the creation of the annual sales and marketing plan and strategies for the property.
2. Manage annual RFP process with team, including global, national, and local accounts.
3. Work with the Director of Revenue Management to optimize revenue through all market segments.
4. Drive visitation, growth, and revenue in rooms, entertainment, food and beverage, and other property outlets.
5. Work with digital team and agency partners on the implementation of the online campaign (website, SEM, and social media) and ensure all relevant communication is available on property websites.
6. Utilize electronic media as a catalyst for exposure, increased awareness, sales, and business opportunities.
7. Ensure marketing and public relations tactics align with Hard Rock brand standards and receive maximum media coverage.
8. Build business/market share by developing new ways to promote company and by participating in events to increase sales and profits.
9. Coordinate ongoing research of the industry to detect market trends and related information for development of new sales and marketing strategies.
10. Make recommendations to improve potential from various markets.
11. Execute Hard Rock Rewards program at local level.
12. Plan, execute, and consult on the consistent application of Hard Rock brand on all marketing, communication, and media to ensure brand consistency.
13. Work with Hard Rock corporate marketing team on the creation of print collateral.
14. Place orders with vendors to maintain adequate stock of inventory (collateral, brochures, etc.).
15. Provide property specific information and insight to the Hard Rock corporate marketing team to assure that initiatives meet needs.
16. Manage the property's social media and reputation management initiatives in accordance with Hard Rock's standards and frequency.
17. Review and develop guest history records to enhance personalized service for repeat guests.
18. Ensure proper communication between sales and operations departments to satisfy any special group needs.
19. Create department budget to include resource quantities, costs, and expenses.
20. Prepare and execute business plans to ensure the maximization of department performance.
21. Monitor actual sales, revenues, and expenses to determine variance and assess goal accomplishments, and adjust strategies and forecasts accordingly.
22. Monitor competitive set activities and adjust execution as needed.
23. Ensure an extraordinary experience and create loyalty to the property and Hard Rock brand by exceeding expectations through exceptional service and product quality.
24. Resolve guest complaints and implement changes to prevent future issues.
25. Monitor quality assurance program scores and guest feedback.
26. Take corrective action when necessary.
27. Maintain relationships with key clients, owners, and investors.
28. Maintain communication with Hard Rock corporate staff.
29. Promote the organization in and out of industry and at relevant trade associations.
30. Present a professional image to employees, guests, clients, owners, and investors.
31. Generate incremental revenue and brand awareness through the creation and implementation of brand relevant local events and promotions.
32. Operate ethically to protect the Hard Rock brand.
33. Ensure brand and business initiatives are implemented.
34. Maintain confidentiality of guest, employee, and company information.

REQUIREMENTS
EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, AND CERTIFICATIONS
5+ years' experience in hospitality management, including 2 years in a marketing role.
Luxury hotel experience preferred.
Working knowledge of local hospitality industry and culture; work experience in country preferred.
Experience in destination marketing.
Experience in successful branding, specifically the ability to drive brand message through multiple channels.
Experience in social media marketing.

Strong command of software applications, especially Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and hotel-specific platforms (MICROS Opera, Sabre/SYNXIS, Delphi, SUN, etc.).
Ability to effectively deal with internal and external customers and staff, some of whom will require high levels of patience, tact, and diplomacy.
Fluency in English & Spanish: additional languages preferred.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Deep understanding of lifestyle hotels and premium dining products and services.
Passion for music and knowledge of music trends preferred.
Self-starter with an entrepreneurial spirit and strong organizational skills.
Ability to travel occasionally.
Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
