Job Summary:
The Release Train Engineer (RTE) is a pivotal role responsible for orchestrating the Agile Release Train (ART) and ensuring the smooth delivery of value across programs and portfolios. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in leading Agile transformations, managing delivery processes, and optimizing team performance using tools like Jira. This role is crucial in aligning teams, facilitating Agile ceremonies, and driving continuous improvement in a dynamic and evolving organization.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Agile Transformation Leadership: Spearhead Agile at scale transformation in an organization with varying levels of Agile maturity, driving consistent delivery excellence.
2. ART Facilitation: Lead the Agile Release Train (ART) by organizing and facilitating key Agile ceremonies, including PI Planning, System Demos, and Inspect & Adapt workshops.
3. Cross-Team Alignment: Ensure seamless alignment and collaboration among Agile teams, Product Management, Architecture, Engineering, and Business Owners to maximize efficiency and value delivery.
4. Value Stream Management: Manage and optimize the flow of value through the program and portfolio, proactively identifying and resolving impediments and dependencies.
5. Performance Metrics: Develop and maintain metrics and reports using Jira and other tools to track progress, identify bottlenecks, and drive continuous improvement.
6. Stakeholder Communication: Facilitate effective communication and collaboration across the program, keeping stakeholders informed with regular progress updates and status reports.
7. Strategic Coordination: Collaborate with other ART leaders and stakeholders to strategically plan and coordinate the delivery of value across the program and portfolio.
8. Continuous Improvement: Continuously evaluate and refine Agile practices, making data-driven recommendations for enhancements and driving adoption of best practices.
9. Coaching and Development: Provide coaching and guidance to Agile teams and Product Managers, fostering their growth and ensuring their success in Agile practices.
10. Subject Matter Expertise: Serve as a subject matter expert on SAFe and Agile methodologies, providing training, guidance, and mentorship to the organization as needed.
