We are offering an exciting opportunity for the position of Regional Head Office Controller. In this position you will play a pivotal role in shaping the financial future of our EMEA Regional Functions. You will be responsible for overseeing all financial planning and analysis activities, ensuring comprehensive and transparent reporting on financial performance with our EMEA Regional Head office Controlling Team.
What will your responsibilities be?
1. Support Pre-Closing Preparations: Ensure all necessary tools and information are in place for seamless financial closing routines, including templates, billing files, project information, accruals, and transferred FTEs.
2. Execute Monthly Financial Closings: Manage monthly financial closings in DSC financial systems, including 3rd party cost accruals, and intercompany accruals & reconciliation. Ensure proper segregation by function and Management Units (MUs).
3. Adhere to Reporting Policies: Ensure full compliance with DPDHL reporting policies and procedures.
4. Conduct P&L and Balance Sheet Reconciliations: Provide support for internal and external audits through thorough P&L and balance sheet reconciliations.
5. Assist Monthly Forecasts: Update and report monthly forecasts to assist and provide presentations to key stakeholders.
6. Support Strategic Quarterly Reports: Prepare and present quarterly decks to functional leaders, highlighting year-to-date (YTD), year-to-go (YTG), and full-year (FY) results. Compare against forecasts, budgets, and prior year data, and recommend cost control actions.
7. Ensure Consistent Budget Uploads: Oversee budget uploads to ensure consistency across DSC systems (Oracle) in all financial KPIs.
8. Assist with External Audits: Provide expert analysis and support to answer questions from external auditors.
The location is Madrid or Bonn (Germany). *Madrid is preferred.
You won’t find another Regional Head Office Controller position like the one you’ll find with DHL Supply Chain. Now, here’s what we need from you:
1. Demonstrate a very strong understanding of Accounting Standards and Legal Requirements regarding financial processes.
2. 5 years of relevant experience in finance.
3. Thrive in high-pressure environments and consistently meet deadlines.
4. Fluent in English with excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
5. Demonstrate strong proficiency in Power BI, Excel and PowerPoint.
6. Possess technical knowledge of Oracle (incl. SmartView).
7. Showcase excellent time management, analytical skills, and strategic foresight abilities.
8. Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related fields. Preferably Master’s degree in these fields.
