When was the last time you spent hours at home waiting for a courier to deliver a package? Or maybe you stepped out for just five minutes, only to come back to a missed delivery notification? And isn’t it frustrating when you schedule a package return, but the courier never shows up?
At Citibox, we understand this pain firsthand. We’ve been there, and we knew there had to be a better way. So we decided to do something about it! Because we deeply believe that there is a more efficient and enjoyable way to handle deliveries and returns.
Our mission at Citibox
We’re tackling the inefficiencies of last-mile logistics, which are overwhelming cities and contributing to carbon emissions. Package delivery hasn’t evolved in decades, so we built a proprietary platform to transform how packages are delivered and returned.
Our model benefits:
The environment,
Online shoppers,
Carriers, and
E-commerce companies.
Citibox is changing the way parcels are handled in residential buildings with a neutral network of mailboxes and an building access system for carriers. Our technology reduces last-mile CO2 and NO2 emissions by 52%, compared to traditional deliveries.
We don’t sell mailboxes or operate transport services. Instead, we optimize carrier routes, making deliveries and returns twice as efficient by:
Ensuring 100% success on first delivery attempts.
Providing 24/7 access to buildings.
Eliminating the need for delivery coordination with recipients.
Creating a single, secure distribution point in each building.
Our main challenges
We’ve raised €80M to scale from 50K to 600K mailboxes, reaching 5 million active users across Spain’s 10 largest cities .
We are expanding internationally, starting with London —one of the toughest markets in Europe.
We need to solidify our operations in Spain and become the go-to solution for carriers. If there’s a Citibox locker in a building, every carrier should deliver there.
We aim to make Citibox the preferred choice for receiving and returning parcels, ensuring convenience for everyone involved.
We are committed to facilitating solutions to transform our cities into greener and more sustainable ones by significantly reducing the number of delivery vans on the road daily. We believe it’s possible to optimize logistics with solutions that cut down on traffic, pollution, and noise, thereby enhancing the quality of life in our cities.
