Context
Pfizer Global Supply (PGS) is the part of Pfizer that brings approved medicines to the patients. Within PGS, the Operations Research & Applied Intelligence Team is responsible for development of solutions that support supply chain improvements around plants, being responsible to investigate, define and implement solutions that improve decision making in diverse Supply Chain areas.
Role Summary
We are looking for a skilled and experienced person passionate about data analysis applied to improving industrial operations to join our PGS team. You will be part of a cross-functional team that is currently working on the design and configuration of our next generation planning & scheduling system to support new ways of working at the sites.
This role offers the opportunity to work and collaborate in a small team of motivated and competent members where you can upgrade your skills and share your knowledge. We identify, analyze, and narrate causes for problems on a global scale and build solutions around them to support decision making. The candidate will work with us as a Manager in the Strategic Processes, Data & Analytics organization in Pfizer Global Supply (please note this is not a people manager position).
You will work in collaboration with a wide range of stakeholders, gaining visibility and engaging with the sites and global colleagues, and get experience in understanding business needs and translating them into data and system configuration requirements. You will work directly with the sites and will have the opportunity to see firsthand how your work can improve efficiency at the plants.
Role Responsibilities
* Work with sites to ensure they get the most from the new Production Scheduling tool.
* Support design and configuration to meet each site requirements.
* Configure a rule-based engine to automatically generate good schedules.
* Support data collection.
* Engage with the sites and highlight the value the new system brings to them.
* Work with the team on Business As Usual (BAU) and Continuous Improvement (CI) initiatives.
* Help to define and measure data and configuration process adherence.
* Collaborate in the design, integration and test of CI requirements.
* Ensure sites follow standard process when using the new tool.
* Identify, define and analyze areas of opportunity.
* Understand and use PGS data to support the development of code and solutions for the analysis.
* Be part of a community to help ensure data maintenance.
Basic qualifications
* Master’s degree in a quantitative field such as: Industrial Engineering, Industrial Management Engineering, Logistics, Operations Research, Data Science.
* Around 3-5 years cumulative experience, especially with hands-on experience in:
* Data analysis, focused on supply chain and manufacturing improvement.
* Advanced planning and scheduling solutions.
* Coding experience (ability to perform analysis on datasets using SQL, Python / R; develop prototype models / production code).
* A passion for data and its impact / presence in the industrial world.
* Ability to communicate, convince, build relationships and collaborate with a variety of colleagues.
* Excellent spoken and written communication skills in English.
Preferred qualifications
* Deep experience in supply chain / manufacturing knowledge and problem solving.
* Advanced analytics and statistical knowledge / experience.
* Extensive knowledge or experience working with (up to production level software development):
* SQL and no-SQL databases.
* Programming languages, such as Python or R.
* User experience with SAP ECC and APO on industrial environments.
