Eco School is an educational program focused on English language immersion and ecology, featuring English speaking teachers, aimed at first-year secondary school students from the province of Álava (Basque Country). The team consists of four English-speaking teachers. We are looking for a teacher to start working January 13th to Friday, June 6th. All teachers must have a proficiency level of English (C2), hold a TEFL certification with an accreditation such as CELTA or similar, teaching experience (preferably in English), and experience as a leisure activity leader. All applicants must have either a European Union passport or a work permit for the European Union.
Each school sends between 40 and 50 students each week, who participate in a 5-day stay at the Barria hostel (https://maps.app.goo.gl/67qpFn469xVd1uvw6). The program includes fun classes and workshops in English, adapted to the students' year and level. The focus is on living in English—full immersion and oral communication development. It also includes an introduction to organic gardening, biodiversity, ecosystems, composting, recycling, science workshops, and more.
Accommodation and meals are included during the weeks when programmed activities take place and during the weekends if the hostel is open, teachers can stay there or can discover the area plenty of incredible forest, or travelling around. Bilbao, Vitoria and San Sebastian are the main cities near the hostel, but there are many incredible towns not far, and Spain is very well connected by public transportation, like buses and trains.
