About the role:
You will be the supply chain subject matter expert which will support Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) procurement requirements for all of Westinghouse’s capital expansion projects.
The Category Manager will support and be accountable for all bid and proposal efforts, sourcing strategies and implementation, including development of key suppliers to deliver the best value to the expansion projects.
You will partner with other category managers to use category spend globally, with a focus on cost efficiencies, product quality, innovation and the most effective supply chain models.
Further, the category manager will develop and implement new products, processes, standards or operational plans that will have impact on the achievement of functional results.
You will report directly to the Supply Chain Director and you will improve total cost, quality, delivery, and reliability to reach organizational goals.
Strong relationship skills are required to manage internal and external suppliers to provide solutions to meet our needs.
Job Description
1. Primary relationship owner for suppliers for EPC capital expansion projects.
2. Primary interface between EPC project team and supply chain.
3. You will manage the segmentation of assigned spend into sub-commodity groups, in collaboration with other category managers, to create levers to achieve operational excellence.
4. You will maintain an overall category strategy to meet organizational goals by improving Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) while securing supply continuity through identifying and mitigating current and potential risks and opportunities in the commodity plan.
5. You will lead the execution of the category strategy through preferred supplier list (PSL), “right-sizing” non-preferred suppliers, and rewarding preferred partners with business awards tied to Long-term Agreements (LTA) with year over year improvements in cost, delivery, quality, service, and profitability.
6. You will review analysis from Power-BI and other tools to create insights into the drivers of assigned commodity and possible effects to spend and cost projections to use as levers with current and future supply base.
7. You will conduct regular business reviews (SRM) with key and strategic suppliers with cross-functional teams and senior leadership.
8. You will create presentations for supplier relationship management reviews, commodity strategies, risk mitigation proposals, 4-Blockers, and supplier/commodity gap analysis.
9. You will create a plan to deliver annual results against metrics of payment terms, on-time delivery, productivity, inflation, and other metrics as determined by Procurement Leadership.
10. You will research, track, and communicate industry trends, best practices, applicable indices, and competitive offerings to identify opportunities for innovation, competitive advantage, and increased overall productivity.
11. You will develop a productive working relationship with peers and other teams.
Qualifications:
1. 10+ years of procurement experience (within industries with complex engineering, procurement, and construction projects, with a focus on procurement).
2. 5+ years of experience in negotiations including RFI, RFP, RFQ and contract development.
3. BA/BS degree required (Preferably MBA).
4. US Government contracting experience preferred. Including familiarity with the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) requirements for procurement.
5. Negotiating, Benchmarking, Market Analysis, Competitive Intelligence, and Procurement Projects Management skills.
6. Experience with vendor management including purchase order issuance, execution, and administration.
