Job Description
What will you do as part of the team?
1. Maximize daily sales calls in the field where leadership examples drive sales effectiveness with team players.
2. Manage selected hotel key accounts and participate in the negotiation of all major account contracts.
3. Manage and monitor the annual processing of RFP's for meeting and group needs within the hotel.
4. Oversee monthly, quarterly and 12-month forecasts and attend forecast meetings to develop monthly tactical sales strategies / action plans to overcome shortfalls against budget / forecast.
5. Lead the preparation of monthly and quarterly action plans for meetings and events to drive results and improve sales performance by updating the hotel sales and marketing timetable.
6. Develop and monitor the volume of new business opportunities for the hotel on a weekly basis.
7. Conduct training sessions for sales staff as required.
8. Attend DOSM required road shows, both international and local.
9. Responsible for personal and direct achievement of individual objectives and personal revenue and budgeted company goals in assigned market or segment.
10. Take personal responsibility for understanding the budget guidelines required to enable empowered decisions in all rate negotiations and implement revenue strategy.
11. Ensure customer needs are well anticipated and driven by the team.
12. Understand market trends, client needs and establish tailored offers to attract new clients.
13. Prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports as needed.
14. Develop, energize and lead a motivated, competent and cohesive team through the implementation of approved sales reward and recognition programs and HR performance management programs and implementation procedures.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree and / or hotel management degree / diploma and / or minimum 2 years as a sales representative and / or equivalent industry experience. Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace as well as English language. Requires excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Most tasks are performed in a team environment with the employee acting as a team player. Knowledge of sales tactics and strategic skills. Must possess computer skills including, but not limited to, Microsoft Office. Good knowledge of Opera Sales & Catering & PMS systems in order to be proficient in room control and meeting space availability. Ability to evaluate / assess performance fairly. Knowledge of the hotel and competitive environment.
