Position summary:
The Sales Account Manager is responsible for developing new business relationships, in this instance specifically with clients principally in the Retail sector, and serving as the first level of support to prospective and existing clients. The role will be a split of approximately 50% of the time farming (managing and growing existing accounts) and hunting (full sales cycle from prospection to onboarding of new clients and consequent ongoing account management of these accounts).
Position responsibilities:
* Develop an effective understanding of the capability, benefits and competitive advantages of TransPerfects services
* Identify prospective customers and individual organizations to focus on sales activities
* Develop new client relationships via cold calling, internet, and trade shows
* In coordination with Sales Management, identify, qualify, develop and close sales opportunities
* Promote and educate clients regarding TransPerfects services
* Provide customer support and manage client expectations in liaison with the Production team
* Manage and control pricing and contractual issues by developing a thorough understanding of company procedures
* Cross sell and upsell various services and solutions into various departments within the clients company with an eye to optimize account profitability
* Take an active role in learning about each clients industry, business needs and company culture to identify new business opportunities and provide a high level of service
* Perform other special projects or duties when required
* Perform any other special tasks that are deemed appropriate for this role as assigned by the manager/supervisor
Essential skills and experience required:
* Minimum Bachelors Degree or its equivalent
* Superior written and spoken communication skills in English
* Ability to build and maintain relationships
* Motivated with a proactive attitude
* Results driven, ability to work independently and take ownership
* Good analytical skills needed to project revenues, monitor budgets and other necessary calculations
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
* Interest in Strategic Business Development and/or Client Services/Account Management as a long term career path
* Most importantly, the ideal candidate must demonstrate ability to: multitask in a fast paced environment, work well with people from a variety of different backgrounds and cultures, build strategic relationships with clients and co workers, work as part of a team, take active measures to solve problems and commit to a high level of service
