The Global Director of Business Development for the Sports World Congress will be responsible for driving revenue growth, securing strategic partnerships, and expanding the SWC’s global footprint. This leadership role requires a dynamic professional with a strong network in the sports industry, expertise in partnerships deals, and a proven track record in business development for large-scale events.
Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic Business Growth
* Develop and execute the SWC global business development strategy to drive revenue, partnerships, and long-term growth.
* Identify and pursue new sports commercial opportunities, partnerships, and markets to expand the SWC’s influence.
* Create and implement strategies to enhance the value proposition for partners, suppliers for stadiums and clubs, and stakeholders.
Partnerships Acquisition
* Lead the identification, negotiation, and closing of high-value partnerships deals with brands, facility suppliers, and industry leaders.
* Develop customized partnership packages and innovative activations that align with partners’ marketing objectives.
* Build and maintain long-term relationships with key decision-makers in sports federations, leagues, clubs, and corporate partners.
Revenue & Monetization Strategies
* Identify and implement diverse revenue streams, including media companies, digital agencies, tourism and hospitality.
* Develop pricing models and ticketing strategies to maximize attendee participation and financial performance.
* Optimize B2B sales efforts, ensuring effective outreach and engagement with potential stadium suppliers and sports partners.
Market Expansion & Global Outreach
* Lead efforts to expand the event’s global reach, securing new host cities, international partners, and national sports suppliers.
* Drive international business development initiatives, ensuring strong market penetration in key regions.
* Represent the SWC at global industry events, conferences, and networking platforms.
Stakeholder & Relationship Management
* Collaborate closely with marketing, operations, and content teams to align business development efforts with overall event strategy.
* Foster relationships with government agencies, sports organizations, and influential sports figures to enhance the SWC’s credibility.
* Act as a key spokesperson and advocate for the SWC in business and sports communities.
Qualifications & Experience
* 10+ years of experience in business development, partnership sales, or commercial strategy within the sports, events, or media industry.
* Strong global network within the sports sector, including brands, facility suppliers, federations, and agencies.
* Proven track record of closing sports strategic partnerships deals.
* Experience in developing commercial strategies for large-scale conferences, summits, or sporting events.
* Exceptional negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
* Ability to analyze market trends, identify opportunities, and execute growth strategies effectively.
Location & Travel
