Role Purpose: The role is to lead an engineering team to work with software developers in the Cloud Platforms Engineering team. This team of developers builds the next generation platform to allow our customers to consume next generation enterprise products in a cloud native manner.
* The deliverables from the team are public cloud infrastructure design, infrastructure as code, CICD pipelines, enabling other engineering teams and software developers to use those with a shift-left engineering experience mindset.
* This is a hands-on role. 60% of the time will be spent hands-on creating IaC and working on user stories.
* 40% of your time will be spent on managing the team.
Key Accountabilities and Decision Ownership:
* Hands-on team lead with full people management responsibility for a small team of cloud platform engineers to support product software development squads.
* In-depth understanding of concepts and procedures within cloud platforms technology and DevOps working principles and practices.
* Responsibility for the delivery of end results and contributes to planning, finances/budget and policy formulation regarding technical risk management and adoption of security controls.
* People leadership.
* Hands-on experience with Cloud infrastructure.
* Hands-on experience with Unix/Linux based operating systems.
* Hands-on experience with DevOps.
* Experience working within an Agile environment.
Core Competencies, Knowledge, and Experience:
* People leadership.
* Hands-on experience in one of the following: public cloud infrastructure design, infrastructure as code (Terraform, Terragrunt), CICD pipelines.
* Familiar with cloud and DevOps technologies practices, processes, and standards.
* Working in agile teams.
