Job Description:
FERROVIAL is seeking a Head of Enterprise Risk to report to the Chief Risk and Audit Officer. The successful candidate will lead the development of industry-leading risk management strategies across the Group. This role requires strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. The candidate will be expected to stay current with industry trends and regulatory requirements, and to continuously improve FERROVIAL's risk management framework.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Lead the identification, communication, measurement, and management of risks across the Group.
2. Provide expert advice on risk management best practices, including defining risk appetites and developing remediation plans.
3. Identify risk exposures, recommend solutions, promote loss prevention, and monitor compliance.
4. Evaluate the severity of each risk by considering its consequences and conduct root cause analyses of risk events and incidents.
5. Develop risk management controls, systems and KRIs.
6. Develop and maintain risk registers and risk management policies and documentation.
7. Prepare risk management reports, recommendations, and presentations for senior leadership.
8. Evaluate employees’ risk awareness, provide guidance, workshops, and training to staff on risk-related matters.
9. Support the implementation of risk management software and tools.
10. Keep abreast of industry changes and developments that could impact the company’s emerging risk profile.
11. Assist with business continuity planning and disaster recovery strategies.
Education, Experience and Skills:
1. The position could be based in Madrid, Austin or Houston. International candidates are welcomed.
2. A bachelor’s degree in business, Law, Finance, Accounting, or Risk Management is required. Professional certification in risk management (e.g., CRM, CERA, CRMP, PRM) is preferred.
3. A minimum of 15 years of proven work experience as an Enterprise Risk Manager or in a similar role.
4. Ability to work effectively with senior leadership and business units, managing multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
5. Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations of the main countries where FERROVIAL is present.
6. Excellent organizational and time management decision-making skills.
7. Strong computer and research skills; knowledge of analysis software is preferred.
8. Proactive and initiative-taking with a strong attention to detail.
9. Ability to think strategically and develop long-term risk management strategies.
10. Analytical mind with problem-solving aptitude and strong communication and presentation skills.
11. Proficiency in English is essential. Knowledge of Spanish will be considered an asset.
12. High level of commitment to quality work product and organizational ethics, integrity, and compliance.
