Job Opportunity: Senior Sous Chef on a Luxury 6-Star Cruise Ship
Location: At sea, aboard a 6-star luxury cruise ship
Contract: 5 months onboard + 2 months leave
Salary: $5,411 USD / month (tax-free, paid only during onboard contracts)

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and committed Senior Sous Chef to join the culinary team of a world-class luxury cruise line. You will work in the main galley, leading a diverse team to deliver exceptional fine-dining experiences to passengers. This role involves overseeing various kitchen areas, supporting specialized sous chefs, and ensuring seamless operations for the central galley and the main French restaurant (200 covers).
Key Responsibilities
* Reporting to the Senior Sous Chef, Chef de Cuisine, Executive Sous Chef, and Executive Chef.
* Leading and working in a multicultural team of 40–60 crew members and supporting the different stations in the main galley such as saucier, soups, entremetier, grill, and starters.
* Assisting with mise en place and service for multiple outlets, including room service.
* Upholding and surpassing six-star culinary standards in collaboration with the broader culinary leadership.
Ideal Candidate Profile
We are looking for candidates with:
* Experience: Proven background in fine dining and luxury cruise lines.
* Leadership: Strong mentoring and teaching skills with a hands-on, patient, and team-oriented approach, especially when working with multicultural teams.
* Language: Fluency in English (essential).
* Documentation: Preference for candidates with STCW certification, C1D visa, Seaman’s Book, and valid Maritime Medical Certificate (e.g., ENG1). The company will assist with requirements if not already held.
* Commitment: Willingness to engage in long-term contracts (at least four contracts over two years).
Requirements
* A recent Appraisal Evaluation from your last cruise experience
* Professional English Language
* Culinary School Certificate
* Documentation: Preference for candidates with STCW certification, C1D visa, Seaman’s Book, and valid Maritime
* Available to start immediately or as soon as possible
* No visible tattoos (preferably)
* Previous experience in high-end fine dining
* Previous experience in the luxury cruise field (preferably)
Work Conditions
Schedule: 10-hour shifts daily, 7 days a week (split shifts).
