We are a leading Genetic Testing organisation listed on the London Stock Exchange seeking an experienced Financial Controller to join our team in Terrassa on a full-time basis, with flexible working patterns available.
The Finance Controller is a key member of the Finance department, providing accounting support to the regional office of a UK listed predictive genetics business (GENinCode Plc).
Key activities include :
Preparation of monthly management accounts.
Preparation of and conformance to internal control procedures.
Working alongside the Finance Director (Spain) to ensure a robust finance function.
Improving existing accounting processes.
Supporting a rapidly growing business.
Upgrading the existing accounting system, particularly the cost controlling, inventory management, and reporting modules to improve management reporting and production of KPIs.
The Finance Controller will also work closely with other departments to ensure that the correct commercial policies and processes are in place and adhered to.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSABILITIES
Reporting activities, including but not limited to :
Support monthly reporting analysis :
P&L, Balance, and Cash flow.
Support Group and local operating plans and monthly reports.
Accountancy activities, including but not limited to :
Perform general ledger transaction processing in a timely and accurate manner.
Prepare month-end close according to company closing schedule.
Provide accurate and timely accounts reconciliations, including intercompany and general ledger.
Reconciliation of processed work by verifying entries and comparing system reports.
Stock control and COGS recognition, focusing on efficiencies and variance analysis.
Preparation of tax documentation for filing; liaison with both external Payroll provider and tax advisors.
Information Technology activities, including but not limited to :
Support module implementations at ERP (SAGE).
Implement and use the ERP automatic processes and "ad hoc" workflow information.
Implement a commercial CRM when required.
Compliance activities, including but not limited to :
Streamlining financial and operating processes to create a strong control environment for rapid business growth.
Support Annual accounts preparation and Audit.
Writing operating procedures.
Perform other duties as required by Finance Director (Spain) and cooperate with all GENINCODE departments.
EDUCATION
Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA)
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
Minimum of 5 years of experience in a financial controller role. Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial processes, including Bill of Materials.
Desirable :
Previous experience as an auditor.
