Job Description
We are looking for a workmate who is passionate about web development and open source frameworks. You are a good fit if you consider yourself a techie who is willing to take responsibility and share expertise with others. You will be responsible for the entire delivery of a project. You will work closely with the project manager to ensure delivery exceeds the client's expectations. Main tasks include:
1. Defining the architecture of the solution and interacting with the client's architects.
2. Writing and refining technical specifications and providing effort estimations for requirements.
3. Leading the development team (mostly distributed among various locations), reviewing code, coaching, and guidance.
4. Respecting infrastructure requirements and synchronizing with the project's lead system engineer.
5. Ensuring quality and performance requirements are met, and synchronizing with the test manager.
6. Release management.
7. Development of critical parts of the systems.
8. Ensuring a reliable work environment for developers (IDE setup, Maven, CICD, Docker, SonarQube).
What do we require?
- Hands-on experience with AEM
- Experience in leading a team, both technically and in people management
- Great communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with technical and business users
- Strong knowledge of Java, especially in web projects
- Strong capacity to identify requirements and define technical solutions
- Extensive experience in leading Java-based web projects
- Knowledge of patterns and good practices to design and develop quality and clean code
- Experience developing RESTful Web Services
- Knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript including frameworks like Vue or React
- Experience with testing at all levels: unit, integration, functional, and performance
- Ability to extend existing products and leverage their APIs to create a customized web experience
- Familiarity with build tools, including Maven
- Knowledge of version control tools, especially Git
- Familiarity with task management, bug tracking, and wiki-based documentation tools like JIRA
- Strong verbal/written English and Spanish language skills
- A proactive mindset, ability to share ideas and bring them to life
- Enthusiasm and an open mind for continuous improvement
- Comfort with receiving and giving feedback.
Additional Qualifications and Skills:
- Experience with Test Driven Development
- Familiarity with the Java Content Repository API (Jackrabbit / CRX)
- Knowledge of OSGi and its Declarative Services
- Experience in professional development environments, such as Eclipse IDE.
