Purpose of the Role:
As a Business Development Representative, you will identify promising sales opportunities, profile prospective customers, discover their needs, and drive new business through various outbound campaigns. In this role, you'll connect with businesses to help them work faster and smarter while innovating. As the first point of contact for hundreds of companies, you will build enthusiasm, qualify their business needs, and route them to the most appropriate sales path. You'll work towards individual sales targets while being part of a larger team focused on expanding the customer base across EMEA. This phone-based role involves interacting with customers primarily through outbound calls.
Responsibilities:
1. Meet quarterly Sales Qualified Opportunity (SQO) quotas and maintain target activity levels daily and weekly.
2. Manage a portfolio of assigned accounts to identify high-potential prospects.
3. Educate customers about offered solutions and benefits.
4. Execute daily outbound calls and emails (often cold-calling), contacting C-level decision-makers, building strong rapport, and assessing needs.
5. Identify customer challenges, gather technical requirements, align business needs with solutions, and establish value as part of the sales process.
6. Update and maintain prospect and customer data in Salesforce.com (CRM database) while managing leads, contacts, accounts, and activities.
7. Focus on productivity, conversion rates, opportunities, and pipeline goals to meet individual and team objectives.
8. Document detailed customer interactions and deal progress consistently in Salesforce.com to ensure transparency for all stakeholders.
Requirements:
1. BA / BS degree OR equivalent practical experience.
2. Native level of German.
3. Proficiency in spoken and written English.
4. Some experience in outbound sales, B2B sales, or business development, ideally within the IT industry.
5. Familiarity with cloud computing concepts, particularly Google Cloud Platform solutions.
6. Strong business acumen and ability to connect customer needs with solutions.
7. High level of integrity, interpersonal skills, and professionalism.
8. Comfortable working in a quota-driven phone environment.
9. Essential computer skills for navigating and operating in a tech-driven environment.
10. At least one year of experience in IT outbound sales prospecting.
11. Proven track record in cold calling and managing a large portfolio of accounts and contacts.
12. Proficiency with Salesforce or similar CRM platforms.
13. Ability to identify decision-makers and stakeholders effectively in a business conversation.
14. A results-driven, confident, proactive, and competitive mindset.
15. Familiarity with the local market and business environment.
