We are looking for a qualified and enthusiastic High School SS Teacher to join our team at Rafa Nadal International, which is managed by The Academy International School, and is based in Manacor on the beautiful island of Mallorca in Spain.
Rafa Nadal School can be found within the grounds of the Rafa Nadal Academy. RNS is a vibrant Anglo-American co-educational school focused on bringing out the best in each student, with the school’s philosophy based on the term “education” in the widest possible sense. Role and Responsibilities:
The duties of the teacher may include, but are not limited to the following tasks:
Instruction:
1. Providing instruction to students in grades 6 to 12, as requested
2. Willingly assisting the instructional process in its many forms
3. Supporting school-wide instructional initiatives
4. Gathering student data through observation, dialogue, testing tools, etc., and designing strategies to meet student needs
5. Remaining current with American standards and other instructional requirements
6. Supporting student learning through thoughtful planning and preparation and sound classroom management practices
7. Driving personal professional development
8. Staying informed on the latest trends in relevant education and instruction
9. Strong IT skills are necessary (including technology in the classroom, and learning platforms such as Google Classroom)
Assessment:
1. Assessing student progress
2. Maintaining updated grade books, tracking the data, drafting report cards
3. Assisting in conducting school-wide benchmark assessments (e.g. PSAT, etc.) when needed
Other Duties:
1. Effectively communicating with school administrators, teachers, student service personnel, and parents regarding student performance and plans for improvement
2. Participating in school meetings as needed
3. Supporting students and administration in Positive Behaviour Intervention and Supporting philosophy
4. Assisting students in adopting a behavior conducive to success in the classroom setting
5. Participating in faculty meetings and professional learning communities’ meetings
6. Assisting in orientation and open classes as needed
7. Modelling non-discriminatory practices in all activities
8. Performing other job-related functions as may be assigned
9. Serving as Team Leader if requested
Community-Based Learning Initiatives:
Assisting in the delivery of a curriculum that utilizes community resources to enrich the learning experiences of students.
