Mission Statement
This role plays a crucial part in maintaining and enhancing our public image, developing strategic communication plans, and managing high-stakes issues that may impact our reputation.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and implement strategic media relations initiatives to enhance Sunstar’s public image.
* Draft corporate materials, media statements, and briefing materials.
* Coordinate multiple agencies and stakeholders simultaneously.
* Provide support for key corporate projects, such as annual reports, internal events, and corporate photoshoots.
* Monitor and manage issues that may impact the company's reputation, providing strategic guidance and response plans.
* Act as a point of contact for media inquiries and proactively engage with journalists, influencers, and key stakeholders.
* Collaborate with internal teams to create and execute crisis communication strategies.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with media outlets and industry influencers.
* Analyse media coverage and provide insights and recommendations for continuous improvement.
Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field.
* Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in media relations, crisis communications, or corporate communications, possibly within multinational companies with presence in multiple countries.
* Fully fluent in English, both written and spoken. Another language of the EMEA Region is desirable (French, German, or Italian). A business-level Japanese would be considered a strong asset.
* Strong ability to craft clear, concise, and impactful press releases, media statements, and briefing materials.
* Proven track record in developing and executing crisis communication plans, including risk assessment and rapid response strategies.
* Experience using media monitoring tools (e.g., Meltwater, Cision, Brandwatch) to track coverage, sentiment, and emerging issues.
* Competence in analysing media coverage, measuring PR effectiveness, and generating reports using analytics tools.
* Excellent interpersonal skills and communication abilities.
