Nationale Nederlanden Oxygen is a subsidiary company of Nationale Nederlanden Group located in Madrid, Spain. We deliver IT services and solutions for the different international Business Units from Nationale Nederlanden Group.
We are looking for an experienced Data Engineer to join our team and help us build a scalable and flexible data platform that meets the needs of our business units. You will be working in an international team, mainly remote, with occasional travel to our business units.
What is the purpose/mission of the position?
As a Data Engineer, you will be responsible for the maintenance and optimization of the infrastructure, data transfers and transformation, as well as the industrialization of models and algorithms on top of our commonly used platform NNDAP that supports our business units' needs. You will work together with our development teams to ensure that our data platform is aligned with our business goals and objectives.
What are the tasks that you’ll perform?
1. Maintain, optimize, and advise on the infrastructure (Azure, AWS, Informatika, etc.) and technology stack at the Hub.
2. Own the industrialization of the models and algorithms in the Hub and cooperate with Lead Insurance Analyst and Lead Data Scientist to support implementation of analytics solutions in the BUs.
3. Support implementation of the data model in the BUs on a use-case basis.
4. Advise on Data Quality actions to be taken by the BUs on a use-case basis, safeguarding the rules for privacy and security (e.g., GDPR).
5. Assist data scientists during data preparation stage with data transformation and code optimization.
6. Keep technical and statistical knowledge at the Data Science Hub up to date by bringing in innovation and research.
7. Maintain a positive vibe and enthusiasm within the team.
What are we looking for?
1. Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
2. 5+ years of experience as a Data Engineer or similar role.
3. Experience working with multiple international business units.
4. Knowledge of the most common data management and extraction tools and code (e.g., SQL, Python, SSIS).
5. Experience in setting up and maintaining a DWH/datalake in AWS.
6. Strong knowledge of Node.js.
7. Experience in extracting different types of data sources (structured, semi-structured, unstructured, and streaming data).
8. Able to design efficient data pipelines and libraries.
9. Able to build advanced database structures and datamarts.
10. Awareness of GDPR regulation.
