What are we looking for?
We are looking for a passionate, creative and strategic Chief Sales and Marketing Officer (CSMO) with extensive experience in the FMCG and food industry to join our team. You will have four direct reports: Sales Director, Marketing Director, Digital Director, and Design Director .
At Smileat we value innovation, collaboration, and customer-centric thinking. As CSMO, you will help us continue to foster a culture of excellence and drive our commitment to providing high-quality products in the children’s nutrition sector.
You will be part of the company’s C-level team, reporting directly to the CEO. Your role will be key in driving the strategic plan for the next five years, with a strong focus on sales channels, optimizing our product assortment, maximizing our current distribution, and strengthening trade marketing efforts. Close collaboration with the rest of the C-level team (CFO, CPO, COO) will also be essential.
Sales Department:
Channel Strategy: Develop strategies for different channels (Retail, Pharma, Organic, E-commerce).
Revenue and Pricing Strategy: Define and implement revenue and pricing strategies to drive growth and profitability.
Promotional Vision: Create and oversee the company’s promotional strategies to increase market share and brand visibility.
P&L Responsibility: Oversee P&L for each channel, ensuring financial targets are met.
Forecasting and Budgeting: Lead monthly forecasts and follow-up against budget by category and SKU.
Active Involvement in NRD (New Product Development): Participate actively in the company’s NRD process to ensure commercial viability of new products.
Trade Marketing Strategy: Develop and execute the company’s trade marketing strategy.
Demand Creation Strategy: Drive strategies that generate demand across all sales channels.
The Sales Director will report directly to you. This team currently consists of 4 members.
Marketing Department:
Branding & Communications: Oversee all branding and communication activities to ensure a consistent and strong brand image.
Public Relations (PR): Manage PR efforts and external communications to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.
Social Media Strategy: Lead social media strategy to engage consumers and promote the brand.
Content Strategy: Develop and manage content strategy across multiple channels.
Customer Insights: Understand customer needs and behaviors to inform all marketing strategies.
Link Between Marketing and Trade Marketing: Ensure alignment between marketing efforts and trade marketing initiatives for maximum impact.
The Marketing Director will report directly to you. This team currently consists of 4 members.
Digital Team:
E-commerce Strategy: Oversee the company’s e-commerce strategy, including website management and optimization.
Paid Media Strategy: Manage paid media strategies, including paid search, display advertising, and social media ads.
Amazon Account Management: Oversee the Amazon account and ensure optimal presence on the platform.
The Digital Director will report directly to you. This team currently consists of 4 members.
Design Team:
Packaging Design: Oversee the design and development of packaging that aligns with brand strategy and consumer expectations.
Trade Marketing Design: Create visually compelling trade marketing materials and campaigns.
Advertising Campaign Design: Develop and oversee the design of paid advertising campaigns across different media.
The Design Director will report directly to you. This team currently consists of 4 members.
What do you bring?
At least 15 years of experience in sales and trade marketing role.
4 or more years in a similar leadership role.
Experience working in a start-up/scale-up
Proven experience in managing teams of more than 10 people .
Fluency in English (both written and spoken).
Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire, motivate, and develop cross-functional teams.
Strong skills in planning and execution of strategic plans.
Problem-solving and decision-making abilities in fast-paced environments.
Ability to analyse data and metrics to make informed decisions.
Sales experience with the pharmacy sector is an asset.

Short-term Goals:
In the first 6 months, you will focus on optimizing the current sales strategies, reviewing existing marketing plans, and aligning the teams towards a unified vision for growth. You will also play an active role in integrating new products into the market successfully.
