Join our team and play a pivotal role shaping the next generation technology foundation for Roche’s Digital Backbone and ASPIRE ERP Roadmap.
In your role you will become a member of the Architecture Chapter. The Architecture Chapter provides the capabilities required to plan and develop Informatics solutions and build roadmaps and strategies to set the direction for the future.
As an Enterprise Architect you will partner with relevant stakeholders in business and foundational domains, product lines, product management and lean portfolio management, and provide the expertise needed to bring together the different requirements and dimensions needed to support the development of the current and future direction; translating the overall business strategy(s) into an informatics strategic direction.
Additionally, you will bring an understanding of the external market, drive the research and examination of new technologies to innovate and evaluate the next generation of fit-for-purpose solutions.
Primary Responsibilities
1. Play a key role in the strategic planning on domain, product line and product level by establishing a technology and information strategy and roadmap that enables a portfolio to support current and future business capabilities connecting the business and IT strategy.
2. You are a Lean Portfolio Governance member and provide inputs to portfolio prioritization decisions.
3. You drive the design, engineering, reuse of applications or patterns, which includes the creation of Enabler Epics for the architectures that comprise the solutions in a portfolio; ensuring a continuous flow of value and improving the time to market.
4. You have a focus on reusable technology and information to maintain the architectural runway leveraging a composable architecture creating reliable easy to compose and consume components.
5. You drive the continuous improvement of the quality of products within your domain by applying Quality Attributes (NFRs) on relevant levels (portfolio, product lines and products).
6. You drive the research and examination of new technologies including the feasibility assessment that provide insights on the scalability and cross domain usage.
7. You support the development of lean business cases and monitor the domain, product line and products for new demands; specifically with a focus on skills and capabilities that the chapter needs to provide next.
8. Put a strong focus on enabling the flow and access on information and manage the information security in the domain, product line and products you are supporting in order to optimize the information and data sharing across the enterprise.
9. You follow a lean-agile governance approach in support of agile teams, enabling decentralized decision making to balance between intentional architecture and emergent design, promoting architecture practices such as recording architectural decisions and architectural assessments.
10. You manage the evolution of the domain IT Landscape and ensure it enables the business document and maintain the current and future / desired IT landscape in collaboration with solution architects of the domain, product line, products you are supporting.
11. You guide and coach implementation teams and solution architects on the technical architecture implementation activities, particularly for new and / or shared solutions.
12. You continuously collaborate across and among all architecture groups (chapter & catalyst) and product teams to adjust and evolve architecture guardrails (including architecture principles, reference models; patterns, decision frameworks), architecture practices and metrics enabling flow and business outcome.
13. Perform the leadership, facilitation, analysis and design tasks required to ensure that information systems are designed and evolve appropriately.
Required Knowledge and Skills
Academic requirement
* Bachelor’s / Master’s Degree in Information Technology or equivalent.
* A certification or detailed knowledge of the TOGAF architecture framework or comparable architecture methodologies is a plus.
* A certification or detailed knowledge of the SAFe framework or comparable agile delivery methodologies is a plus such as the Open Agile Architecture standard.
* A certification or detailed knowledge in the area of Cloud Computing, Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence is a plus.
Experience
* 7+ years hands-on experience in architecting / implementing software solutions.
* 3+ years of experience of managing architecture on portfolio level.
* Ability to build / create proof of concept / pilot applications to showcase platform functionality to business partners / stakeholders.
* Functional expertise in SAP ERP modules (SD, MM, FI / CO, etc.), in S / 4HANA, and SAP Cloud Solutions Business Technology Platform.
* Broad and strong experience in SAP ERP architecture with solid technical & architectural skills in different domains (business, application, information, but ideally also middleware, integration, databases, cloud, analytics).
* Experience in master data management, document management, or governance processes desirable.
* Ideally experience in creating architectural runways, and in managing architectural governance in a time of transformational change, fueled by a global template approach.
