Job Description
1. Monitoring various country or region-specific privacy legislations and data protection regulations, analyzing compliance requirements and issuing recommendations as needed, and supporting the implementation of new requirements into technology.
2. Leading privacy by design initiatives for a portfolio of SaaS products dedicated to the hospitality industry.
3. Conducting Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs).
4. Improving and maintaining cross-border data transfer legal framework.
5. Reviewing and negotiating various data protection terms and data processing agreements with clients, suppliers, and partners.
6. Managing privacy incidents.
7. Maintaining the Register of Processing Activities.
8. Interacting with IT, security, and business stakeholders to identify data protection-related risks and introduce mitigating measures.
9. Conducting employee training to increase understanding of privacy, data handling practices, and legal obligations.
10. Responding to data subject requests.
Qualifications
1. A university degree with a minimum of 3 years of experience in a Privacy role in a multi-national company, ideally in tech / SaaS.
2. IAPP certification (e.g., CIPP / E, CIPM, CIPT).
3. Experience with interpreting and implementing obligations of data protection legislation and regulations (especially the GDPR, CCPA, and PIPL), as well as understanding security compliance.
4. Familiarity with One Trust and / or similar solutions.
5. Knowledge and experience in IT and security when working in a privacy role, including a solid understanding of relevant technologies, such as encryption, hashing, tokenization, etc.
6. Strong interpersonal and organizational skills and the ability to manage simultaneous projects under deadline pressure.
7. Flexibility and willingness to work on a broad variety of legal and tech matters and collaborate with various teams and divisions.
8. Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a collegial, fast-paced environment.
9. Understanding of IT and SaaS products and practices to protect data during processing activities.
