Research line / Scientific-technical services: Software Engineering and Data Engineering
The OASSIS-UDC subproject will focus on improving the energy efficiency of software solutions and technologies for managing and processing large volumes of data. The project contemplates working with data solutions for text, semi-structured data, graphs, linked data (RDF) or geographic information. Although commercial solutions exist, the hypothesis is that the energy consumption involved in managing large volumes of these types of data can be improved by using specific data structures and algorithms based on compact data structures and compression.
TASKS TO BE PERFORMED
* Support/assistance in the implementation of prototypes, carrying out experiments, data collection and processing in the processes of data extraction, transformation and loading (ETL).

Requirements
Research Field: Computer science
Education Level: Bachelor Degree or equivalent
Skills/Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Degree, Diploma, Technical Engineering or Technical Architecture.
MERIT ASSESSMENT CRITERIA
* Academic record of the degree, Bachelor's degree or Computer Engineering degree: up to 20 points. The score obtained will be multiplied by 0.5 if it is a related degree. Other qualifications will not be scored in this section.
* Work experience (with contract), participation in R&D projects, technology transfer (up to 7.5 points per year), max. 30 points.
* Demonstrable knowledge of computer developments using technologies relevant to the call for applications: Python, R, etc., max. 30 points (up to 5 points per course, per year worked, where the candidate accredits the use of these libraries.
* Accreditation of English level, B2 or higher, 5 points.
* Personal interview, provided that a minimum of 40 points are achieved in the previous sections and only in the case of a possible tie between candidates: up to 15 points.
The suitability of the CV for the job offered will be assessed.
The call for applications may be declared void if a minimum of 40 points are not achieved in the first 3 sections; with this same criterion, a minimum of 40 points will be necessary to constitute a waiting list.
All merits must be supported by documentary evidence.
