About the Location:
The Four Seasons Resort Mallorca is perched on the spectacular Formentor Peninsula and backed by panoramic vistas of the Mediterranean and the surrounding landscapes. This stunning historic property is scheduled to open its doors as a Four Seasons resort in June 2024.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assist in the preparation and baking of pastries, desserts, and bread under the guidance of senior pastry chefs.
* Maintain cleanliness and organization in the pastry kitchen, ensuring workstations, tools, and equipment are in order.
* Help with the storage and inventory management of baking ingredients, including proper handling, labeling, and rotation to maintain freshness.
* Follow recipes, portion controls, and presentation standards to ensure consistency in pastry and dessert quality.
* Support the pastry team during service, ensuring efficient and timely plating of desserts and baked goods.
Our Ideal Pastry Commis Candidate Will Have:
* Culinary Education: A diploma or certification in pastry arts or baking from a recognized culinary school.
* Relevant Experience: 1-2 years of experience in a professional kitchen, preferably as a Pastry Commis or in a similar pastry-focused entry-level position.
* Basic Pastry Skills: Proficiency in fundamental pastry techniques, including mixing, baking, and decorating.
* Knowledge of Food Safety: Strong understanding of food safety and sanitation practices.
* Team Player: Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
* Willingness to Learn: A keen interest in developing pastry and baking skills.
* Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail in measuring, shaping, and decorating pastries.
* Time Management: Effective organizational skills to manage time and prioritize tasks.
* Adaptability: Flexibility to adapt to menu changes and special requests.
