Leap29 is excited to present a fantastic opportunity for a Grid Connection Engineer to join one of the largest solar energy groups in Europe. With a global presence across Europe, Asia, Africa, and the Americas, the company handles the full lifecycle of solar projects—from design and development to installation and commissioning—and has a diverse portfolio of projects at various stages of development.
Responsibilities:
* Lead and manage grid connection engineering for solar projects, ensuring compliance with local regulations and standards.
* Collaborate with project managers and developers to design effective grid connection strategies.
* Conduct feasibility studies and technical assessments to evaluate grid connection options.
* Liaise with utility companies, regulatory bodies, and local authorities to secure permits and approvals.
* Develop and maintain technical documentation, including connection specifications and project plans.
* Provide technical expertise and mentor junior engineers throughout the project lifecycle.
* Monitor grid performance, identifying optimization opportunities and recommending solutions.
* Stay updated on industry trends, regulatory changes, and technology advancements related to grid connections.
Requirements:
* Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
* 8+ years of experience in grid connection engineering, focusing on renewable energy projects in EU.
* Strong knowledge of EU grid regulations (REE, CNMC) and interconnection procedures.
* Proven experience managing grid connection projects, including feasibility studies and technical evaluations.
* Proficiency in relevant engineering tools (AutoCAD, PSS/E, DIgSILENT PowerFactory).
* Fluent in Spanish and English
* Based in Barcelona or willing to relocate (essential)
