European Controller
Job description

We are present in more than 13 countries, counting with a solid combination of onsite/piping, merchant, and package lines of business across key industrial zones.
The European Holding of NipponGases Europe is located in Madrid and monitors the development of the different European regions. Due to the projected growth in the coming years, our Finance team is looking for a European Controller to support the monitoring of the European regions. This Controller will report to the European Accounting and Tax Director.
Key Responsibilities
* Within a Finance matrix organization, the European Controller will monitor closing activities, including the analysis of the development of the business.
* The controller will support the organization with Accounting and Tax analysis and assessments.
* Promotion and development of the Consolidation tool (FCCS).
* Control, coordinate, and manage the European Insurance Program.
* Ensure adequate corporate structure across the region and optimize European structure.
Job requirements
Background
* Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
* Master, MBA, Certified Public Accountant (CPA / ACCA or ACA) is a plus.
* At least 5 years of experience in accounting. Big four audit experience is a plus.
* At least 3 years of experience administering consolidation tools as FCCS/PBCS or Hyperion (HFM).
* Previous experience in a similar industry will be valuable.
Required skills
* Language requirements: full professional proficiency in English and Spanish is mandatory; knowledge of any other European language is a plus.
* Excellent communication skills, ability to communicate to a variety of audiences across business functions and levels, tailoring messages appropriately.
* Experienced Excel user – our objective is to automate in FCCS/PBCS and reduce manual work.
* Critical thinking skills, including the ability to quickly assimilate new information, identify patterns, make sound decisions, and develop creative solutions.
* Positive attitude, desire to learn, self-motivated, and effective team player.
* Ability to work independently and be flexible.

* Travelling may be required up to 15% of the time.
