Department Description:
Within Atradius ITS, the Credit Insurance Service Delivery (CISD) is in charge of planning and managing all applications and programmes specific to Credit Insurance. The team manages these Applications in a BusDevOps manner. They are in charge of designing, implementing and operating application solutions for demands specified by Product Owners in the central or decentralized business or functional units outside ITS.
Job Description:
As an Application Engineer, you will provide the technical skills to create and validate effective solutions in the context of the Atradius application ecosystem. Application Engineers design, code and automate the testing of our technical solutions, choosing the most effective ways of working and implementation in accordance with our Architecture. The Application Engineers work in Asset teams in a DevOps way, closely co-operating with Product Owners, Asset Owners, Analysts and internal and external Engineers to manage and implement the lifecycle of the Asset as well as running and operating it.
Required qualifications:
- 4+ years of experience as Developer or Application Engineer.
- Excellent hands-on skills in developing experience with Java 11+, Spring Boot, Microservices, Spring MVC, Spring Data JPA/JDBC, Git, Maven, RDBMS (Oracle DB, MySQL, SQL Server).
- Experience with Unit and Integration testing and test automation.
- Hands-on experience with Software Design Patterns, Docker or Kubernetes (K8S or OpenShift).
- Azure knowledge, DEVOPS CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience with monitoring and alerting (Elastic-ELK/Prometheus/Grafana).
- Experience in the Scrum application development lifecycle and the tools engaged in CI/CD, e.g. for DevOps.
- Understanding messaging platforms (i.e. Kafka, EMS, ActiveMQ and/or IBM MQ).
- Strong moderation skills including sessions with non-technical participants.
- Readiness to be on call outside office hours within a roster.
- The successful applicant could be required to travel (mainly between the Unit’s locations) for short periods of time, as and when the need arises.
- Applicant should be prepared to work 1 d/w in our offices.
- Right to work in the EU and the UK.
- High English level, but additional language skills (in particular Spanish) will also be valuable.
Good to have:
- Sound knowledge of the relevant legacy programming tools and languages like Oracle DB, PL/SQL, SQL, SOA/XML, Oracle forms are of benefit.
- Experience with the Oracle Database and components of the Oracle Fusion Middleware Application Stack e.g. BPMN, BPEL, OPA, OBR etc is beneficial.
- Analysis and Design documentation methodologies, e.g. ERD, UML, User Stories.
- Knowledge of application and modelling development tools such as Sparx, Toad, Confluence, Jira etc.
- A finisher; a person who is able to initiate and manage a course of action through to its completion, from end to end.
- Strong communication and influencing skills.
Key responsibilities:
- Create and review feasible and economic solution designs and participate in development with our internal and external Partners.
- Drive Continuous Improvement and automation of Assets, Processes (deployment, test etc.) and Team performance.
- Assure compliance of our Application Assets with our Quality Standards and Architecture.
- Conduct sessions to build the technical knowledge across multiple vendors/partners.
- Perform impact analysis (including a detailed investigation at code-level) and reverse engineering when required.
- Ensure that systems are consistent with each other and adhering to existing/proposed Atradius architecture.
- Advise on Asset or Process improvements.
- Participate in continuous knowledge improvement of technical skills.
- Ensure accurate reporting to management regarding progress on assigned tasks, including risks and deviations from plans.
