The IP Engineering spans across all markets in Europe, Egypt and India, and within the Atlantic Cluster we deliver services to the UK, Ireland, Spain and Portugal.
The team specializes in the Engineering of Core Network IP infrastructure and connectivity within the data centre, and security devices that prevent increasingly sophisticated cyber-attacks.
We enable projects that require connectivity both within local market and internationally to central data centres, public cloud providers or 3rd party partners.
We continuously guarantee the IP network runs with carrier grade service levels by ensuring a design with proper capacity, resiliency and vendor support, always having in mind investments are done efficiently with balanced costs/benefits.
With a design and customer-focused mindset, you will work on a variety of key projects of multiple sizes to deliver Office LAN network capabilities that support reliable and secure hosted and collaborative services across Vodafone, mainly focused on Corporate LAN, VPN, Management LAN, Data Center and Office IT environments.
You will be responsible for the engineering of the High and Low Level Design, network implementation, testing and quality assurance activities in the Local Market’s network.
You will act as the Engineering Technical Authority with a design specialism, providing IP Subject Matter Expertise at various levels, offering technical insight on the several projects you will participate in.
1. Responsible for High Level and Low Level Design engineering and network design optimization.
2. Drive increased quality of our network end to end.
3. Provide HLDs, LLDs, define templates, modularize and industrialize configuration items and their implementation.
4. Implement Virtualisation and segregation concepts.
5. Conduct proof of concept (POC) validation.
6. Responsible for optimal implementation process that delivers ensured quality.
7. Decrease the design and implementation costs and achieve a harmonized & simplified network infrastructure.
8. Take control over CAPEX budget; forecast, planning, allocation, approval process, administration.
9. Deployment of the validated solution to its operational environment and deliver training.
10. Planning of Changes and support of Change Management Process.
11. Supervision of external supporters and 3rd parties.
12. Quality assurance in the design and implementation process.
13. Support, Test & Accept/Audit the deployed solution.
14. Hand over the accepted solution to Operations and Maintenance.
15. Manage and control the different existing test environments.
16. Define necessary test catalogues and test plans.
17. Document test & QA activities.
18. Drive knowledge transfer and technical skill development within Network Implementation team.
19. Responsible to ensure network documentation.
20. Support the state-of-the-art network documentation for the implemented solution that is aligned with TSO architecture.
21. Ensure the quality of the documentation.
22. Support the data population and accuracy of the Asset and Change Management - Databases.
23. Responsible to ensure network harmonisation and standardization across the Region / the local market.
24. Harmonize Office LAN network environments and services.
25. Drive network standards across Local markets.
26. Drive + Support Network innovations as SDN.
27. Collaboration and Teamwork.
28. Alignment with other engineering, implementation, and operations teams in Vodafone.
29. Development of harmonized solutions within Regions and TSO.
30. Share expertise with other network teams across Vodafone.
What you bring?
1. An academic degree and/or at least 5 years work experience in an IT organization supporting large heterogeneous IT infrastructures.
2. Experiences in project management.
3. R&S; CCNA or CCNP certifications strongly recommended.
4. You are goal-oriented and enjoy taking initiative as well as responsibility.
5. Fluent Spanish and English oral and written.
6. Business skills:

2. Expert Knowledge in networks (TCP/IP, Protocols, Structures, Hardware, Security).
3. Expert Knowledge in the area of the installation and configuration of network components (Routers, Switches, VPN Gateways, Firewalls, Proxies and others).
4. Expert Knowledge in routing protocols, VOIP technology, WLAN technology, DHCP, DNS, AD.
5. Expert Knowledge in network management and network analysis.
