About the location:
The Four Seasons Resort Mallorca is perched on the spectacular Formentor Peninsula and backed by panoramic vistas of the Mediterranean and the surrounding landscapes. The hotel was originally opened in 1929 within an expansive private estate. Currently undergoing restoration and renovation, this stunning historic property is scheduled to open its doors as a Four Seasons resort in June 2024.
About the role:
The Four Seasons Resort Mallorca at Formentor is looking for a Commis Cook to join our team. The Commis Cook is an essential member of the Food & Beverage team dedicated to providing exceptional quality and service to our guests. The Commis Cook prepares breakfast, lunch and/or dinner per guest orders from all outlets in accordance with production requirements and quality standards while maintaining a safe and sanitary work environment.
What you will do:
1. Prepare food items of consistent quality according to guest orders following recipe, as well as production, portion, and presentation standards.
2. Operate, maintain and properly clean kitchen equipment, including food processor, mixer, and oven.
3. Maintain a clean and efficient station.
4. Strong knowledge of health codes and full understanding of all knife cuts.
5. Label and date all food containers and rotate as per policies.
6. Determine necessary preparation, freezer pull, and line set up.
7. Return all food items not used to designated storage areas.
8. Manage and prioritize tasks by shift.
What you bring:
Our ideal Commis Cook candidate has excellent teamwork skills. Attention to detail and the ability to multi-task are required. The Cook position is required to operate, maintain and properly clean all pastry shop equipment. Applicants also are required to have a trade apprenticeship or other form of registered training in the culinary discipline. It is required to have a minimum of two years of culinary experience in a luxury restaurant or similar. Basic knowledge of kitchen tools and culinary operations is required. The position also requires continuous standing for up to 8 hours per shift and the ability to lift up to 30 Kg. Applicants are also needed to have a flexible schedule and the ability to work all shifts, weekends, and holidays. Fluency in reading, writing, and spoken English and Spanish is also required. Must have the legal right to work in Spain and have fluency in English and Spanish.
