About CARLOS SIMÓN FOUNDATION FOR RESEARCH IN WOMEN’S HEALTH
At Carlos Simon Foundation, we are looking for a Laboratory Technician Senior to join the Molecular and Cellular Origin of Gynecological Tumors research group, led by Dr. Aymara Mas. The Carlos Simon Foundation for Women's Research is a non-profit organization founded and directed by Professor Carlos Simón, a professor at the University of Valencia and renowned clinical researcher in the field of obstetrics and gynecology. We are a multidisciplinary team made up of more than 60 professionals. We work to create a world in which women's health pathologies that affect the uterus are no longer a barrier to their quality of life and reproductive desire. Our main activity is biomedical research in the field of reproductive medicine and women's health, and the development of other initiatives aimed at improving our knowledge in the field and its application. Our organization is affiliated with the University of Valencia and the INCLIVA Health Research Institute (IIS INCLIVA), accredited by the Carlos III Health Institute, promoting educational access for our students and fostering the research careers of our research team.
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:
1. Prepares, collects and processes samples, guaranteeing efficiency and rigor in the performance of different clinical trials, in strict application of the procedures, standards, technical instructions and approved methods.
2. Analyzes and documents the results obtained.
3. Complies with established protocols to ensure the reliability and maintenance of the equipment, as well as is responsible for the updating and good state of conservation of these.
4. Manages and controls samples and laboratory material according to established protocols.
5. Proposes and carries out immediate and corrective measures when anomalies or deviations are observed, as well as actions that can improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the laboratory.
6. Maintains an updated analytical database in his/her area of competence.
7. Ensures that the research group has the laboratory reagents, standards and consumables according to the needs and status of the different projects they are working on.
8. Collaborates with Researchers in the design and implementation of new processes, treatments or in the application of existing ones to new types of products, as well as in the evaluation of the reagents used.
9. Gives support to the group in the preparation of works for the scientific dissemination of results (internal meetings, abstracts for congresses, scientific articles).
10. Performs animal tests and provides technical support in management tasks and maintenance of the animal facility infrastructure.
11. Supports in the interlocution with external suppliers, prepares reports and scorecard on the projects in which she participates.
12. Maintains order and cleanliness in the workplace, complying with occupational health and safety regulations.
13. Participates in the administrative and accounting management of public projects obtained through INCLIVA/University, in which the Foundation collaborates.
Required skills and experience:
1. Fluency in spoken and written English.
2. Methodical profile, with initiative for improvement and versatility when working on multiple tasks.
3. Excellent planning and organizational skills to prioritize work and meet tight deadlines.
4. Demonstrated ability to initiate and follow through on improvement initiatives.
5. Ability to analyze and diagnose errors.

8. Observation and attention to detail.
9. Interest and initiative in updating knowledge for job performance.
10. Experience in cell culture: cell line maintenance; working with organoids will be an asset.
11. Experience in NGS analysis: library preparation, sequencing is an asset.
12. Experience in immunohistochemistry techniques.
13. Willingness to travel and collaborate with research centers and/or external laboratories, to implement the latest techniques in the Foundation.
Labor conditions:
Salary: The salary range for this position will depend on the suitability of the candidate for the requested profile.
Contract: Full-time employment contract.
