Overview:
Element has an exciting opportunity for an Engineer to join a worldwide Testing, Inspection and Certification Company. This position will enable you to become an accomplished engineer proficient in performing a wide range of tests on advanced composites materials and metals alloys among many others, and for a wide range of customers of different sectors.
As a member of the Materials Department (MT), you will have the chance to lead testing programs that will include standard methods to bespoke tests and rigs. You will work on testing to evaluate mechanical and physicochemical properties on composite and metallic materials as part of raw material Incoming Inspection, production Process Control or the Qualification of new materials or manufacturing processes.
The MT test Engineer provides technical and engineering leadership and interacts with customers on technical issues and questions, is accountable for the accurate and timely release of testing results to customers including sign-off of quality control data as acceptable and oversees standard and/or routine technical problem-solving activities.
Responsibilities:
* Ensures that safety and quality standards are being met and maintained at all times within the company's safety and QA programs.
* Support of project manager in questions of process and work optimization as well as in questions of cost-effectiveness in their respective fields of expertise.
* Assists in the engineering and coordination of projects from start to finish. Works to assure quality, timeliness, consistency and accuracy of test reports.
* Advising technicians on critical test executions.
* Perform the test procedure or test guideline for those standards for which there is no existing data processing of test results.
* Reporting, reviewing and authorizing results. Signing of test reports to be sent to the client.
* Appropriate customer support for technical aspects in collaboration with the project manager.
* Interfaces with client on a frequent basis for job initiation, job progress and general customer service.
* Customer assistance in the event of a visit.
* Close collaboration in projects during the sales process providing technical knowledge and in the creation of quotations and schedules.
Skills / Qualifications:
* Mechanical / Material / Aerospace Engineer degree and/or experience in the field of materials testing engineer.
* Possesses a high level of expertise related to the scope, core theories, concepts, terminologies and boundaries of his/her engineering discipline. Training on metallic and composite materials, on mechanical and physicochemical properties of materials.
* Ability to speak effectively in English.
* Knowledge of elasticity and mechanical Design (CATIA v5).
