The Plant Manager provides leadership and direction to partners at a Schreiber Foods plant. Continuously improve cost, quality and service of the products produced through the development of teamwork at the plant level as well as the use of cross-functional teams with suppliers, other Schreiber Foods groups and customers. Establishes and maintains a plant culture conducive to teamwork and continuous improvement.
Role & Responsibilities:
1. Assures fair and equitable HR and personnel programs are developed and maintained consistent with the company direction.
2. Leads the plant’s activities in improving performance in the areas of cost, quality and service.
3. Together with the plant team, develops and maintains a work environment which is both safe and sanitary.
4. Provides leadership in the production of finished product while improving various fixed costs and various Variable costs.
5. Represents Schreiber Foods in contact with regulatory agencies, local customers, and the community.
6. Defines and reviews (with Category leads) KPIs for all areas.
7. Understands shipping and transportation needs and works on new and improved solutions.
8. Recommends and assures the prudent use of capital dollars in the acquisition and maintenance of equipment/facilities.
9. Negotiates lease and supply agreements as applicable.
10. Provides coaching and career development assistance to staff members.
11. Actively seeks an understanding of market conditions.
12. Create and support the Process Excellence culture and team environment.
13. Together with the leadership team, ensures compliance with Food Safety and Food Quality Plans, in addition to customer requirements. Interprets and communicates customer requirements to plant production and/or support groups.
14. Establishes and audits PCPs, CCPs and Standard Operating Procedures to define and monitor processes, to ensure customer requirements are met.
15. Reviews incidents during which the procedures are not met and determines appropriate corrective action for partners failing to follow standard procedures.
16. Train, coach, evaluate and reinforce Schreiber qualities and principles with partners.
17. Identify potential Capital improvements going through the analysis justification and approval process. Manage or assist in the management of capital projects.
18. Active in supporting the local community, in line with Schreiber’s values and objectives to Do Good Through Food.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s in Business, Food Science, Dairy Science, Supply Chain Management, Engineering or related field.
2. 5-10 years of experience in Food Manufacturing and similar roles within a mid to large sized manufacturing facility.
3. English and Spanish fluency is required.
4. Ability to learn and adapt to local culture while living and teaching Schreiber values.

9. Advanced knowledge of food regulations.
