Job Description
Role Summary:
As a Product Owner for Cloud Secure Account Management, you will play a crucial role in setting, prioritizing, and accepting the work generated by an agile engineering team.
The product is highly strategic and technical, requiring adherence to strict regulatory and compliance requirements. It combines secure and compliant cloud account provisioning with integration into the cybersecurity framework and distribution of hardened AMIs and other services to all accounts within the organization.
This role is key to Roche's digital transformation and acceleration of future digital products.
Key Responsibilities:
* Support and evangelize a culture that values product excellence, promoting a healthy product development lifecycle within the Roche Engineering Community.
* Partner with product management to develop and communicate product vision and roadmap, aligning amongst organizations consuming the product.
* Collaborate with architects, compliance, quality, engineering, ops, and cybersecurity teams on enablement work needed.
* Act as a customer proxy, working with product development teams and stakeholders to define and prioritize features and user stories.
* Facilitate communication between teams and stakeholders to ensure transparency and manage expectations effectively.
* Participate in regular agile ceremonies to convey customer needs, translating into actionable work items.
* Draft team objectives for next iteration increments to optimize the flow of work.
* Inspect and adapt the implementation process to increase quality of the program, including assessment of metrics and evaluation of business value achieved.
* Balance workload between operations, bug fixes, and feature enhancements.
* Liaise with horizontal functions, including SRE, Quality, Security, PMO, to support delivery.
* Coordinate escalations within the team scope.
* Ensure continuous improvement and compliance with the delivery strategy.
* Develop strong relationships with key stakeholders to ensure alignment on the product vision and priorities.
* Identify opportunities for innovation and differentiation within the cloud infrastructure as code and security space.
* Assess and mitigate risks associated with product development, compliance, and implementation.
* Develop contingency plans to address potential setbacks or challenges.
* Advocate for user-centric design principles, ensuring the user experience is prioritized in product development.
* Collect and analyze user feedback to inform improvements and future features.
Requirements:
* University degree or equivalent in computer science, engineering, or related fields.
* Experience working in a multicultural environment and proven cultural awareness.
* Background in the diagnostics and pharmaceutical industry or highly regulated industries like finance or insurance is advantageous.
* Comfortable facilitating technical software engineering and DevOps discussions.
* Good overall understanding of cloud technologies.
* Experience with Agile methodologies (Scrum or SAFe preferred).
* Understanding and experience with modern software development processes and release cycles (CI/CD, GitOps, ...).
* Experience in aligning a team towards common goals and delivery timelines.
* Analytical and problem-solving skills, discipline, and attention to details.
* Drive to remove friction from existing processes and ability to listen actively.
* Overall understanding of how technologies integrate together in a growing ecosystem: AWS, AWS services, GitLab, Splunk, Dome9, Vault, Grafana, etc.
* Experience with Amazon AWS is a strong plus.
* Experience with product delivery in regulated industries, with good understanding of compliance topics such as information security and design control, is a strong plus.
* Preferably experience with the healthcare sector, including regulations and controls such as HIPAA, HITRUST, ISO 27001, GDPR, etc.
* Consulting, negotiation, and influencing skills, advanced English skills, analytical, and abstracting skills, and attitude to solve problems.
