Our growing and dynamic engineering team is looking for an energetic Senior Frontend Engineer to join one of our cross-functional product teams. The ideal candidate will bring a substantial depth of knowledge in front-end web technologies, play a significant role in shaping the user experience and function of our web applications, and will not shy away from getting hands-on in back-end and API work as needed. She/He will also actively contribute to all stages of Datamaran User Centric product development and display a keen interest in the latest innovative technologies such as generative AI.
A one thousand feet view of our tech stack:
* Our web application is built on vue.js, node.js and javascript.
* Our data stores include ElasticSearch, MongoDB and PostgreSQL.
* Our server side and data pipelines are built in Python and FastAPI.
* Everything is hosted on AWS, on EC2 or in lambda functions.
Responsibilities
* Contribute to design, build, and enhance Datamaran web application.
* Work closely with UI/UX designers, product managers and other roles in an agile team to develop and implement new features.
* Debug, deploy, and maintain large scale web applications.
* Participate in product discovery phases, bringing invaluable insights regarding user-needs and potential solutions.
Minimum Requirements
* Over 5 years of professional front-end development experience across several projects, with a focus on HTML, CSS, JavaScript (ES6+), Node.JS. Nice if you have some experience with Typescript.
* Proven expertise with Vue.js (if you have experience with another frontend framework/library such as React, Angular, Svelte, etc. and want to work with Vue, it might also be considered).
* Understanding of cross-browser compatibility, and accessibility standards.
* Must have experience with source control systems like Git.
* Self-driven, detail-oriented, with a strong commitment to quality.
* Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
* Embraces and promotes development best practices, such as SOLID, unit testing, CI/CD.
Bonus points and nice-to-have:
* Experience with web performance optimisation.
* Some knowledge of backend frameworks in Python, like FastAPI, or demonstrable experience working with back-end technologies.
* An appetite for learning new technologies.
* Knowledge of PostgreSQL, MongoDB and ElasticSearch.
* Familiarity with DevOps and AWS, as well as Docker.
