One of our partner companies is currently seeking a Distinguished Engineer - Machine Learning (VP level) in Europe.
Role Overview
As a Distinguished Engineer in Machine Learning, you will play a key role in shaping the company's AI and machine learning strategy. You will lead transformative AI technologies, set new standards for engineering excellence, collaborate across teams, drive AI/ML initiatives, and influence strategic decisions to push industry boundaries and anticipate future technological advancements.
Accountabilities
1. Lead the development and execution of multi-year, company-wide AI and ML initiatives, ensuring scalable solutions that meet current and future business needs.
2. Provide strategic leadership by engaging with senior leadership, external partners, and industry groups, influencing the company's direction and technical strategy.
3. Spearhead research and development of next-generation AI and ML models, driving innovation and performance breakthroughs.
4. Mentor and coach senior engineers, contribute to recruitment, and foster a high-performance culture.
5. Represent the company at conferences and forums, publish research findings, and contribute to industry discussions.
6. Collaborate with product and business teams to define roadmaps and align technical capabilities with business goals.
7. Manage large-scale, high-impact projects, ensuring exceptional execution amidst ambiguity and evolving requirements.
8. Drive continuous improvement by adopting industry best practices and cutting-edge research.
Minimum Requirements
1. PhD in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field.
2. 10+ years of AI/ML research and development experience post-PhD, with success in leading large-scale projects and driving innovation beyond academia.
3. Expertise in AI/ML frameworks, deep learning algorithms, and hardware-optimized machine learning.
4. Experience in neuromorphic computing, hardware-efficient AI, or computational neuroscience is a plus.
5. Proven leadership in managing senior engineers, influencing technical direction, and promoting engineering excellence.
6. Strong communication skills capable of engaging executives, engineers, and external stakeholders.
7. Contributions to academic research, open-source projects, or industry consortiums are highly desirable.
