Senior Data Insights Analyst
As the Senior Data Insights Analyst in the Commercial & Marketing Analytics team, you will play an important role in supporting our business' strategic and operational decisions by leveraging advanced analytics and by creating insightful applications, reports, and dashboards using Qlik Sense and Microsoft Power BI.
You will be responsible for transforming complex data into understandable and actionable insights that support our commercial and marketing efforts.
Your main responsibilities
1. Design, develop, and maintain scalable apps, reports, and dashboards in Qlik Sense, Microsoft Power BI, and similar tools
o Understand business challenges, requirements, and user needs and objectives by working with stakeholders; convert these into analytics questions and technical specifications.
o Connect to and prepare data sources for analysis; build data models and calculate metrics and KPIs.
o Create data visualizations and dashboards that effectively communicate the data insights; build interactive and visually appealing reports; test for accuracy and performance.
o Conduct User Acceptance Tests (UAT); iterate on the design based on feedback from end-users to improve usability; create and maintain technical documentation.
o Deploy apps and reports to production environment and/or automate report distribution (if applicable); regularly maintain and update apps and reports to ensure they continue to meet business needs and incorporate new data sources or insights; resolve errors.
2. Support ad-hoc analytics and reporting needs
o Clarify specific questions or objectives with business stakeholders.
o Identify data sets and analytics methods to find data-driven answers.
o Gather data from relevant sources; ensure data collected is accurate and relevant to the objective.
o Analyze the data to extract meaningful insights.
o Use statistical methods and/or data analysis tools as needed to interpret the data.
o Visualize analysis outcomes in Microsoft Excel or Power BI or in Qlik Sense in line with the audience's needs.
o Present findings to stakeholders, including (senior) management.
3. Provide user support and upskilling on apps, reports, and dashboards in Qlik Sense, Microsoft Power BI, and other tools, and on general Data Literacy topics
o Answer questions on the correct usage of the apps, reports, and dashboards in Qlik Sense and Microsoft Power BI.
o Support users on interpreting data, metrics, and KPIs and turning them into actionable insights.
o Contribute to the preparation and facilitation of upskilling sessions (incl. creation of training materials, presentation during training sessions, Q&A).
o Contribute to the creation of info and self-learning materials (e.g., quick cards, user guides, how-to videos).
About the ideal candidate
* Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant area, such as Computer Science, Data Analytics, Information Systems, Mathematics, or a related field.
* Experience in an analyst role, ideally in a software or travel company; experience in working with data visualizations tools (ideally Qlik Sense, Power BI).
* Background in databases such as SQL.
* Good understanding of the business and its objectives, as well as the ability to align their work with the company's goals and priorities. Good understanding of the (commercial) organization and processes in Travel Unit and how Revenue Operations fits in.
* Fluent in English, other languages are a plus.
