TITLE: Junior Payroll Analyst
DEPARTMENT: Finance
REPORTS TO: Senior Manager, Payroll
LOCATION: Madrid, Spain
ROLE TYPE: Full time, Permanent, Hybrid
Role Overview
The Junior Payroll Analyst will be responsible for supporting payroll processing globally acting as a back-up for the North American, EMEA and APAC analysts when they are out, assisting with the documentation of the payroll processes, supporting the implementation of a global payroll platform and supporting monthly reporting, as needed.
How You Will Make an Impact
* Support daily payroll functional activities by assisting the Senior Payroll Analysts when needed and stepping into fulfill payroll duties when other team members are out.
* Understand and maintain the documentation related to the global payroll workflows.
* Coordinate with Human Resources (HR) as needed to ensure information is received timely for the processing of new hires, terminations, transfers and promotions.
* Maintain confidentiality in handling payroll activities and changes.
* Provide supporting documentation and reporting to accounting for the purpose of recording accruals and answer questions, as needed.
* Work with the accounting team to refine the monthly general ledger accounting process to increase efficiency and improve controls.
* Support the transition of payroll processes from the current providers to a global payroll platform.
* Assist with ad hoc projects and responsibilities as needed.
Essential Skills and Experience to be Successful in this Role:
* Bachelor's Degree preferred.
* 1-3 years of relevant experience in payroll and payroll benefits.
* Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and to effectively communicate complex payroll matters to employees and management.
* Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with utmost professionalism.
Desired Skills and Experience:
* International payroll experience is highly desired.
* Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
* Problem-solving attitude with the ability to adapt to changing requirements.
