Role Overview:
Operations Manager
The Operations Manager ensures that aftermarket operations and service to our customers are executed seamlessly, complying with safety standards, and ensuring the best possible customer experience from the on-time delivery, quality and technical requirements compliance perspective. This position requires a strong technical knowledge, understanding of service/repair activities and knowledge on customer operations:
equipment dismantling and expertise, repair/upgrade quoting process, spares procurement, inventory management, repair process, delivery, commissioning, start-up, and site acceptance.
Leading an operational team of 50+ people, the Operations Manager will ensure operational performance (on time delivery, past due backlog, cost of poor quality, cycle times, non-material cost of goods sold) as well as full accountability on the service center P&L sheet, ensuring manufacturing costs and operating structure sizing in accordance to the sales volume in order to reach the operating income levels expected.
Job responsibilities and performance goals:
* Operations management
* Ensure full compliance with Flowserve safety standards and policies (pure safety training compliance, safety observations, SMA Audits, Global safety alerts compliance, etc).
* Team management:
new recruitment, training and associate’s development plan.
* Ensure proper back-office order management in the ERP system (order entry, material procurement release, inventory management, delivery, etc), coordinating engineering + manufacturing + supply chain + quality. Participate to ERP improvements initiatives implementation to cover all operational needs.
* Ensure workshop resources and skills development, balance load/capacity
* Manage and develop, if necessary, suppliers in region (machining, coating, welding, painting, etc.)
* OPEX management and reporting:
Plan, manage, and direct operations and expense activity, measure against budget for the area, and develop and implement actions to correct any unfavorable variances from the annual plan.
* Lead the implementation of CAPEX for improvements
* Financial forecasting and reporting:
* Lead weekly commitment calls to report expected monthly bookings/sales.
* Participate to the monthly financial plan forecast
* Participate to local Sales & Operations meetings with the sales team and other business stake holders in order to ensure visibility on customer needs, opportunity pipeline and needed actions to materialize customer needs to precise solution proposal
* Support sales and commercial operations teams in the frame of long term service agreement proposals, customer equipment fleet reliability assessment and solution proposal.
1. Your profile:
* Must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or related field. Master’s Degree in Business Administration is a plus.
* Minimum 5 years in leadership roles industrial operations
* Familiarity with P&L, financial and operational reporting metrics, and performance management systems required.
* Strong leadership skills are necessary, especially the ability to influence across an organization and build high performing teams
* Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement processes are a must for the position.
